Good to catch up with German Development Minister Reem Alabali-Radovan and Norwegian Development Minister Åsmund Aukrust. Germany and Norway stand by @UNDP year after year. That steadiness lets us plan, stay and deliver where it's hardest. Thank you! #IMFMeetings #WBGMeetings

Deeply saddened by the passing of King Harald V of Norway. My thoughts are with the Royal Family and the Norwegian people. At @UNDP, we share a special bond with King Haakon VIII, our Goodwill Ambassador for over two decades. We share in his sadness, and in Norway’s.

“We have no tomorrow – there is only today.” For Andrii Lobanov from Zaporizhzhia Perinatal Centre these words define life on the frontline. Every baby in his care depends on electricity to survive. Just minutes without power can cost a fragile life. 🔗 go.undp.org/qpw On the occasion of #Norway’s Constitution Day, read how solar power stations installed by @UNDP with support from @NorwayMFA are helping doctors keep life-saving equipment running for Ukraine’s smallest patients. 🇳🇴🇺🇦

Accessible polling stations mean accessible elections. 🗳️♿ In 2025, only 5.67% of Moldova’s 1,974 polling locations were fully accessible. Infrastructure isn’t a detail, it’s a condition for equal participation. Learn more: go.undp.org/T5y

With @UNReliefChief in Damascus. Humanitarian aid saves lives. Development sustains them: restoring basic services, rebuilding livelihoods, creating jobs. Working as one, we help move Syria from crisis to recovery, and from recovery to stability. This is delivery in action.

In #Gaza, families are observing Ramadan amid widespread devastation with resilience & determination. With the Government Operations Room, UNDP has begun supporting vulnerable communities to transition from tents to relief housing units, thanks to Germany (KfW), Korea, & Sweden.

Special day in East Jerusalem, meeting Palestinian people from across city life. Community members, children, shopkeepers and doctors shared their stories. I was struck by their resilience and hope, even when daily life is challenging.

Great to start #MSC2026 with a timely debate on the shifting development paradigm. Development is more than ever hard power, the first line of defence in an unstable world, and the smartest investment in long-term security.
