It never goes down. Every single year there are more classified inventions than the year before.
Either Americans keep accidentally inventing things that threaten national security, or the definition of 'national security' keeps expanding to cover things they don't want you to have.
All tax is a grift. The real question you should be asking is why is this guy permitted to play in the same sandbox as lockheed and raytheon. Why did his ideas go to market instead of get stolen and classified like thousands before?
