Please never normalize the fact that over 24 hours later, we still don't know anything about the ICE agents who killed Alex Pretti. No names. No details. Because they are masked, anonymous, and being protected by the state.

Every Democratic member of Congress should be on a plane to Minneapolis right now to join the people protesting in the streets. Federal elected officials should physically place themselves between the public and these dangerous thugs sent to terrorize this American city.

FWIW: I have no doubt that Kristin Chenoweth is sincere in her advocacy for LGBTQ+ people and that her response to Kirk’s murder was emotional and well-intentioned, if perhaps under-informed. It was a regrettable response that she likely regrets, but she is not the enemy.

While we are having much needed conversations about the evils of political violence, I would like to remember my dear friend Lauri Carleton, who was murdered two years ago by a gunman for simply displaying a Pride flag in front of her Lake Arrowhead store. RIP Lauri. 💔 #enough

You know what happens when you erode the rule of law? Businesses hold off on taking risks and making investments.
You know what happens when businesses hold off on taking risks and making investments? Economic growth stalls.
You know what happens when economic growth stalls? People lose their jobs and their retirement savings shrink.
Don’t think this won’t personally affect you. It will. It already is.

Four years ago, Coloradans faced horrific violence at King Soopers that claimed the lives of 10 of our community members. My heart goes out to those who lost loved ones and all Coloradans on this difficult day. As we mourn, we remain Boulder Strong.

It is the birthday of Stephen Sondheim, and it's true that not a day goes by when I don't quote him to myself. Many composers write songs that match our extremes of emotion -- ecstasy, sorrow, rage. Sondheim does all that, but he also captures every shade of feeling in between.

Today, on World AIDS Day, I take a moment to reflect on my journey living with HIV for 33 years. It’s been a long road, but I’m healthy and stronger than ever due to the medical advancements, research, and work of those in the HIV/AIDS community! I want to thank all the doctors, scientists, and everyone who’s contributed to the HIV/AIDS fight. We've come a long way, but there’s still a lot of work to do—especially when it comes to finding a cure and fighting the stigma that still affects so many, specifically in marginalized communities. Let’s honor those we’ve lost to HIV/AIDs and work to support those still fighting!
