interesting that she says "I can't" instead of won't. she seems distressed that she can't tell the ppl asking so probably her family. it certainly plays into the theory that she'll speak about what happened and get killed for it
The more I think about this the more I’m wondering if this is what might end up happening with TaiVan. Tai hiding behind a facade, Van unable and unwilling to wear one too, to live a lie, but in trying to escape that fate she retreats into a life suspended in permanent stasis

it's also why, when she gets to shauna, she's unable to actually compliment her. jackie refuses to investigate her own internal world and her feelings for shauna are so hugely part of who she *actually* is that she cannot face them without having to face everything else

Interesting that they appear to see the helicopter circling above them *before* attempting séance 2.0. Maybe the rain/storm comes and interferes so they turn to desperate measures, trying to contact Jackie/the dead as proxies so they can plead with the wilderness to let them go
Yes Mrs Taylor is a woman of refinement but there’s something about how much this looks like a high school prom that makes me feel like Jackie’s parents would totally want to make it all about their dead teenage daughter despite this being a wedding between two twenty-somethings
If that’s the case those of us with the ‘pink was never Jackie’s favourite colour it was just another part of the pretence’ reading will feel so vindicated (already do from this alone tbh - Shauna’s stepping right into Jackie’s facade with this wedding) 🙏
