The implication in the games is that we have no idea what Asari “actually” look like, as they alter the perception of the viewer to appear in a form that is attractive to them. (Though this is intentionally left inconclusive for the player to ponder)

The Yin Yang is not the Dark Side and Light Side, or good versus evil. It’s a harmonious balance of opposing systems. The Yin Yang is the Force, or the “Light Side”. In Star Wars, the Dark Side is an external perversion of this system that disrupts the balance.

They look like humans to you? They look just like Salarians. Or wait… maybe Turnians with that head fringe.

Jackson’s changes diverged so far from the book that Christopher Tolkien famously stated that the films “gutted the book, making an action movie for 15-25 year olds”, and that they “reduce to nothing the aesthetic and philosophical significance of this work”.

Meh, not really. Filoni was the supervising director of Clone Wars, which was mostly a liaison to help the writers and directors translate the pitches Lucas gave into episodes. Outside of the final season he has very few writing credits on the series. Rebels wasn’t much different

I'm guessing that this is a similar situation as the Ahsoka novel, where Filoni had a story outline for the events that was handed off to the Johnston to spin out in the manner of her choosing. I'm not quite convinced that he's actively working with them much more directly.

Abrams had an initial outline, but those ideas were largely rewritten by the time the movie was being filmed. syfy.com/syfy-wire/jj-abrams…

It is genuinely wild that stun blasters are introduced in the opening minutes of ANH, then we don't see them again in live action until TLJ.

TFA isn’t my favorite Star Wars film, but I always walk away from the film cheesing it.

Force Ghosts almost universally appear to people who knew the person in life and Ben never knew Anakin. Luke is the only person in the Sequels that Anakin would show up for, but the Yoda scene was much more important for where Luke was at in TLJ.

Perverted Justice was created and ran independent of the show and continued long after it ended. They had low overhead, relying upon public donations and volunteers. Total payout from NBC is only estimated to have been $2mil, which would only cover staff salaries for a few years.

More people need to read the Poe Dameron comic.

They can’t even articulate what it is they think Hit Detection does. It was probably just a mock review or a bit of market research. Sensitivity consulting isn’t even one of their marketed services.

It varies on a state-by-state level. Most municipalities allow for a wider range of means of proving citizenship than the specific requirements of voter ID laws.

And yet, remarkably little has been found. The checks and balances have worked incredibly well historically.

There’s typically an additional verification process like a signature that is checked against the registration. In some states, polling locations are assigned, so you’d need to know which one to go to. Then additional issues arise when that person goes to vote themselves.

In theory, nothing. The main issue is that there was almost certainly a fee associated with acquiring that ID. If you were required to show an equivalent ID to vote, that would fall under the categorization of a poll tax, which is explicitly forbidden by the 24th amendment.

Right here actually. As long as there is a monetary cost to acquiring an ID, no matter how small it may be, the federal government cannot institute voter ID requirements as it would be considered a poll tax.

That would be “after” and not “within”. But then again, after the subway is the unfinished high rise and Hilltop Center, and then you go to Heather and Harry’s apartment. *Then* you go to Silent Hill.

Outside the nightmare, the first two areas of SH3 are the mall and subway, which are in some unspecified city several hours drive away from Silent Hill (presumed to be Portland, Maine). Heather and Douglas drive to Silent Hill about midway through the game.
