Thomasville, North Carolina "Attention everybody!" a white player shouts at the front of the East Davidson High School bus after losing to Thomasville High. "Make noise if you hate N-words!" White teens across the bus immediately erupt into loud cheers and laughter while two boys in the front seat fist-bump on camera. Davidson County Schools canceled the rest of the team's season effective immediately. Was canceling their season the right call?

An ex-NYPD detective is accused of shooting a Black father dead and driving off. Koran Irvine, 46, was driving home from his job at Con Ed, where he'd worked for 20 years. Prosecutors say a near-collision turned into tailgating, then one shot through the back window of his car, fired from Victor Romero's Range Rover. Police say Romero, 62, kept driving into New Jersey and never called 911. They found him the next day at his security job and recovered three guns. The DA charged him with manslaughter instead of murder. Bail was set at $1 million, and he posted it the next day. "The idea of him being free after this charge… we think it's a travesty," Irvine's family said outside court. Romero hasn't entered a plea and hasn't been convicted. He's due back in court Tuesday. If anyone else had fired that shot, would it still be murder?

🚨 HATE CRIME ARREST: Racist white man accused of threatening to “PAINT MY DRIVEWAY WITH N*GGERS BLOOD” and calling for Black and LGBTQ people to be KILLED. 📍 Homestead, Florida Paul Vincent Critti, 21, sent unsolicited Instagram messages threatening murder, rape and hanging towards a Black woman. Police say he then sent the woman his LIVE LOCATION and challenged her to confront him. The woman reported the threats to the FBI. Critti was arrested and charged with a felony involving hate-motivated written threats. HE DIDN’T EVEN KNOW THE WOMAN HE WAS THREATENING. SHE REPORTED HIM TO THE FBI.

🚨 SCHOOL SHOOTER IDENTIFIED: 16-year-old John J. Griffin has been identified as the gunman who killed three children, ages 5, 8, and 11, and a teacher at an Oregon elementary school. Now, the first reported photos of the teenager have emerged. BEND, OREGON — Griffin reportedly used a shotgun purchased by his mother to shoot through locked doors at Silver Rail Elementary School before opening fire. A 7-year-old child and a 54-year-old teacher were also critically injured. The massacre ended when Kaylub Giamanco, a father of two students at the school, followed the gunman inside and fatally shot him. Investigators are still working to establish a motive and determine how Griffin obtained access to the weapon. Three children went to elementary school Thursday and never came home. The youngest was just 5 years old. A father stepped in to stop the killing. Now investigators need to establish how a 16-year-old obtained the shotgun used to carry it out.
