Palestinian children now enduring their fourth winter of this! Fourth.
As heavy rain & cold hit #Gaza, families and their #children are facing devastating conditions in makeshift tents with little protection. @UNICEF is doing what we can to support but much more needs to be done. Access for all aid & more funding is vital. Children cannot wait.

Heavy rains have flooded tents in Gaza, while Israeli settlers have seized homes in Jericho and Israeli forces raided a Bedouin village in the occupied West Bank. Al Jazeera’s Nour Hegazy has the latest.

It’s a deliberate policy. Israel wants Gaza to be uninhabitable, any coverage that doesn’t frame it that way is whitewashing war crimes.
Scores of trucks carrying new tents and caravans (mobile homes) have been waiting at Gaza's border for more than a year, but Israel has blocked them from entering despite a US-brokered and monitored ceasefire. Israel’s deliberate and systematic cruelty to deprive displaced Palestinians of shelter and compound their suffering is part of an effort to drive Palestinians out of Gaza, and is continuing with full U.S. support.

A single House member received 800 calls in just one day pleading with them not to support Hakeem Jeffries for Speaker.
These numbers are going up, by the way: A Democratic House staffer told me their office got nearly 800 calls about Jeffries on Friday alone. Most of the staffers I'm talking to describe this as the most call volume they've ever experienced. axios.com/2026/11/06/jeffrie…

I admit that I completely broke down today. I cried uncontrollably. I couldn’t hold myself together after witnessing what I saw with my own eyes. Today, we went to film a journalistic report inside the displacement tents along the seashore. I swear, what we witnessed was beyond what any human being should have to endure. I saw men crying bitterly. Men I had never seen cry when they lost their children or when their homes were destroyed. Today, I saw them crying because they were powerless to do the simplest thing: protect their children from the water and the cold. We spoke to families who told us they had spent the entire night carrying their children in their arms after floodwater covered the floors of their tents and soaked their mattresses. They couldn’t find a single dry place to put their children. They couldn’t even give them a few hours of sleep. I saw children no older than five, without proper clothes to protect them from the cold, without heating, and without a dry place to sleep. Children shivering inside tents that cannot keep out the rain, protect them from the wind, or provide even the most basic sense of safety. What more must happen for this world to act? How much more suffering must people endure before someone remembers that they are human beings? I am sick of this world. I am sick of its hypocrisy and empty slogans. To hell with a world that talks endlessly about human rights while leaving children to drown inside their tents. To hell with everyone who has witnessed this suffering and chosen silence, and to hell with the governments and institutions that have the power to act but continue to turn their backs on us.

Anyone who has camped in serious rain knows how miserable it can be, especially when your attempts to keep the rain out fail. All you want is to feel dry again. When it’s cold it’s exponentially worse. When you’re with your kids, you feel awful for them as they shiver. Now imagine the tent is your forced home, the water keeps rising, and there’s nowhere to go to get dry or warm.

This “Israel should be treated like every other country” line is a clever dodge. It has everything: flattening genocide with other human rights abuses, vaguely implies antisemitism (Free Space), avoids any normative determination & defers to a mysterious far off IHL finding (1/2)
.@jonfavs: Would you restrict weapons sales at all [to Israel]? Shapiro: America sells weapons to lots of countries...and should those nations violate the terms of the sales, they would no longer be permitted to purchase those weapons. I think Israel should be treated as other nations are.

Listen to the pain in his voice. The endless suffering of Palestinians in Gaza. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! 🚨Support Now 🚨 chuffed.org/project/113222-t… Thousands of tents broke overnight, and this young boy in Zaytoun neighborhood is one of them. The Sameer Project is getting hundreds of calls and messages asking for support, and we don’t have the funds to do it! The military occupation closed the Egyptian borders a few days ago, and there are no tents or tarps coming in. War profiteers supported by the military occupation are hoarding tents and tarps, and hiking the prices making it impossible for anyone to afford them. Our choices are to feel hopeless and angry, or mobilize and help as much as we can. The Sameer Project chooses the latter but we NEED your urgent help. Donate urgently to the General Fund and share the crisis in Gaza with everyone you know: chuffed.org/project/113222-t…

Israel can kill children without generating a single headline in Western media. That’s what total impunity means.
Israeli gunfire has killed a 15-year-old in the al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis in southern Gaza, according to medical sources. 🔴 LIVE updates: aje.news/vt3gv4

We warned that Gaza’s makeshift shelters wouldn’t survive the first heavy rain. We never imagined that one night could destroy tens of thousands of tents and wash away entire displacement camps. Help please: chuffed.org/project/113222-t… Roads are under water. In some areas, the flooding is so deep that families can barely get out and our teams can barely get in. People who have already been displaced over and over are soaked, cold, and trying to figure out where their children can sleep tonight. And it’s still raining. We need to act now. Families need replacement tents, dry bedding, and solid ground to pitch those tents on before the next downpour. Please donate to The Sameer Project’s emergency winter response and help us reach families who have lost their shelter again. Give to our General Fund: chuffed.org/project/113222-t…

It took one night of rain for entire displacement camps in Gaza to flood. Urgent help needed: chuffed.org/project/113222-t… This morning, tens of thousands of families are facing another day of rain without shelter. The tents they slept in yesterday are underwater. The streets they would use to reach help are flooded and impassable. We knew the tents were fragile. Even so, we were unprepared for this much destruction after the first rainfall. Families are still soaking wet, trying to salvage what they can and figure out where they’ll sleep tonight. Please donate to The Sameer Project’s winter response and help us get emergency shelter to families who lost theirs overnight. Give to our General Fund: chuffed.org/project/113222-t…
