Ever the creator, @brbenji just put out a video about sharing movies from his plex server with his dad--via Urbit. He also covers topics like Directed Messaging, Vere64, and blobs, including their current status and impact on large file sharing. youtu.be/InpbSF2HXkc

This Friday at 2pm pacific we will be doing Urbit Office Hours on Urbit, via %glurff. Install it: |install ~nolset %glurff or if you don't have an urbit ship, visit glurff.com for 1 click temporary onboarding. It is time to banish your limiting beliefs.
Operating with limiting beliefs about your urbit? @GlueWear isn’t. One-click onboarding. Peer-to-peer video calls. Multiplayer Doom. All because he thought “it would be funny” and lacks limiting beliefs. What are your limiting beliefs about Urbit? urbit.org/blog/glurff-becaus…

should ship with the most american OS too, no? URBIT
American glass. American metal. American silicon. American batteries. American workers. American everything. BlueChip is the first American computer in decades. Don't let anyone lie to you and say it can't be done. Designed in California. Built in America.

We're at the point between Urwasm and Jock as compiler writer that we can probably put a proof of concept of any substantial language that doesn't care about memory layout onto Urbit in a few days.
A new APL compiler, written in Jock, compiles to the Nock ISA and can run on @Urbit or NockApp/@Nockchain runtimes. 🍎> 2 * 10 *⍟ 10 2.642213044E60

Here is a paper presenting a simple proof that Nock is Turing complete, how it relates to the SKI combinator calculus, and why Nock opcodes 0, 1, and 2 are a complete basis for computing. urbitsystems.tech/article/v0…
Since July, I've been working on a set of fundamental CS questions rooted in combinator calculi. I've built out the SKIverse, a set of tools for computing on the SKI combinators, writing them using high-level languages, and ultimately zero-knowledge-proving with them. 🧵

this is only true is your codebase is infinitely large. which begs the question: why do you keep making your codebase infinitely large? seems like it would be better to make the whole os, like, 225k lines of code or so.
the recent security incidents are going to 100x the demand for open source models the software security game is now: the side that wins is the one that can deploy the most tokens so every organization will rush to harden their software, the demand for tokens will 100x because if you don’t want to get pwned, you *have* to use ai now

Where have we seeing sigil-related solutions to @zooko’s triangle before..?
Base-1353 encoding, so I can fit 256-bit values, like “96cca2a0c8a3263c74ef36274abf55f410d992034d16e8285811a9ad3fc59c13”, into short 26 character strings, like “ᓒᔳᣏዧᐎᑙᖜዌᙔᐸƫȶƃᒨዊጶᙵኻѫyፐᎉᑫᖫᘪᒩ”. Also, I think these sigils are beautiful. johnservil.github.io/sigil/p…
