These are not Pareto Frontier results. ECDSA.fail challenge has already moved the frontier far ahead, and the claimed 843q at 21M Toffoli gate’s achievement is actually a pretty mediocre result compared to what open research community was able to achieve. Interestingly the results were published at arxiv.org/pdf/2609.09582 but it seems like Anthropic missed it - even though Opus is actually the leading model in use by ECDSA.fail community.

Given plain-language instructions, Claude Mythos 5 designed quantum circuits that improve on the best published ones, sometimes by an order of magnitude or more.
More efficient circuits reduce the resources needed by quantum algorithms, which could bring quantum computing applications in chemistry and materials science within reach sooner.
