All revolutions have their own colour or a symbol these days. So we love this idea - we'll be penguins. They might think we look a bit silly now, but we're actually tough and patient, we look after own own and there's millions of us. #Vexit

Might be time to stop running this lie...

There's been a lot of media sooking about Victoria's fiscal position, but very little reporting on the final budget figures for 2025-26, released today. We wonder why...

We are averaging 4 arson attacks a week over a 3 year period. At no point in Australian history has any state been attacked this hard with arson.

Because there are no police in VIC, so no reports of crime. Doesn’t mean there ain’t crime occurring!

Victorian crime stats out today. Both Victoria and NSW are among the safest places on earth. But why did Victoria have years of media hysteria over a rise in property offences while NSW was able to sweep rising violent crime under the rug until recent tragedies?

Sydneysiders are stunned to learn Melbourne's CBD has proper supermarkets where residents do the weekly shop. That's because our CBD has actual homes in it. Thousands of them.

This is ahistoric nonsense and should never have been put to air. Melbourne's trams were entirely unexceptional in the first half of the 20th century and Sydney had a larger system. We just didn't replace them with buses, does anyone seriously think that was the wrong call?

Melbourne's network saw cable trams replaced later than other cities, as the 1890s depression cast a very long shadow here. This left the network relatively a bit more modern than other cities in the 1950s, when our divergence really started.

The replacement of the Bourke St buses with electric trams ahead of the 1956 Olympics saw us begin to take a different path from other western cities, that were by then actively replacing their trams with buses. Does anyone think Bourke St would be nicer filled with buses?

They are not mad at all. Not in the slightest. Just reduced to gibberish by their all consuming jealousy of Marvellous Melbourne. Cope and seethe Skippy, cope and seethe.

Moderna had to choose between Melbourne and Sydney for its mRNA manufacturing facility. Turns out a smart population beats an airport trane when it comes to the big issues.

Wrong.
Every state grew last financial year except one. Victoria's economy shrank 0.8 percent per person. Most indebted state. Worst growth. Same government.

Insane hyperbole. Get help.
Has Ben Carroll’s white knight manoeuvre schtick come too late for the damsel in distress that is Victoria? We’ll see. Read the full comment: bit.ly/4hPblkS

Perhaps you should take some advice from the world's best...
As bad as it looks, football stadiums should be out in the exurbs, where they will unavoidably be surrounded by parking. Unlike basketball/hockey stadiums, baseball fields, or soccer pitches, they're rarely used; an anti-primary use, taking up space and rarely drawing visitors.

So yes, Victoria was right* to ditch the dated British Empire school sports day. *should never have agreed to host them in the first place.

"In a move set to anger residents" What residents?
Two housing towers up to 138 metres tall, which will create 540 homes next door to Metro Tunnel’s Arden Station have been approved by the state government in a move set to anger residents > bit.ly/4fGh1w5

With Melburnians accounting for 36 per cent of all movers nationwide, tens of thousands are ditching the city for a permanent sea-change to these booming regional hotspots > bit.ly/4eCAIU6

Media finally catches up with reality. You can't move in Melbourne without bumping into Bevan and Bianca from Botany Bay, fleeing south for a better life. Melbourne welcomes these refugees from a broken land like so many before them - Greeks, Vietnamese, Sudanese ... NSW.
