Reddit sued Perplexity and a group of major scraping providers, including SerpApi. In the process, they revealed how Perplexity, ChatGPT, Claude and Google actually work. Including how businesses can get traffic from AI search to their websites. Now that the secret is out, let’s talk about it. By the way, if you want to see whether your business is appearing across Google AI, ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Grok, check here (it's free): seo-stuff.com/free-audit Reddit’s lawsuit claims that Perplexity and its partners have been scraping Google’s search results to capture Reddit content indirectly, bypassing robots.txt restrictions. One part of the complaint really stuck out. Reddit reportedly created a test post that only Google could crawl. Within hours, Perplexity showed the content of that post. According to Reddit, the only way Perplexity could have retrieved that content was by scraping Google’s SERPs or by getting the data from a partner that scraped it. This essentially confirms that Perplexity and similar AI search engines are not crawling the full internet on their own. Instead, they are relying heavily on obviously training data, but also Google's top results, often times Bing's top results, authority domains, recency signals and optimized data. This has been a guiding principle by which SEO Stuff (seo-stuff.com/ai-seo) has been operating. This also lines up cleanly with what Perplexity’s head of comms recently explained publicly. Many AI search systems still rely on page-level discovery signals before passing those results into an LLM, which then synthesizes answers using sub-document or snippet-level context. (If you want to see where your site stands across Google, ChatGPT, Claude and broader AI search, start here: seo-stuff.com/free-audit) AI engines don’t start from “the web" so much as they start from a filtered, ranked, authority-weighted version of the web. When you break it down, here is what appears to be happening under the hood: Perplexity monitors and ingests Google’s top results as a discovery feed. And this is why visibility in Google translates directly into visibility in AI search. This also explains why brands that “rank fine” but lack authority or structure often never show up in AI answers. They’re visible to humans, but not that useful to machines. Perplexity has actually offered an interesting window into AI search dating back to last August when their “ranking factors” leaked courtesy of Metehan Yesilyurt. Retrieved content is broken into chunks and converted into vector embeddings. Then at search time, the system compares your content’s vectors against the user’s query to find semantically relevant matches. Clean structure, clear subheadings, short answer blocks and semantic clarity win out. This is exactly what snippet-first systems optimize for: reusable fragments. Authority domains also receive a ranking boost, and legitimate, strong backlinks still matter. Recent studies on AI Overviews and Common Crawl back this up, showing authority builds on itself inside AI systems because high-authority domains are crawled more often, retrieved more often and cited more often. Also, a strict recency filter is applied. Perplexity uses a time decay system. New content and recently updated content are weighted more heavily. Everything we have learned lines up perfectly with the system SEO Stuff (seo-stuff.com) has been building around long before this lawsuit surfaced. Not because anyone was exploiting a one-off loophole, but because SEO Stuff was building for how AI systems actually retrieve, chunk and cite information. The done-for-you package: seo-stuff.com/gold-plan-pack… You get 10 AI search optimized articles plus three DR50+ backlinks per cycle. The content is formatted with: High semantic density Clear HTML markup TLDR summaries Question-based H2s Short answer blocks for extraction Backlinks come from domains already appearing in AI results and already receiving real search traffic. This builds both discovery authority (Google) and citation defensibility (AI). The content package: seo-stuff.com/premium-conten… You get 60 targeted, high-similarity articles created and refreshed on rolling cycles to stay inside the visibility window that Perplexity, Gemini and AI Overviews rely on. This content is designed to show up in both Google’s index and Perplexity’s derivative index. Scale matters because AI confidence is built through repetition, not one perfect page. The authority package: seo-stuff.com/premium-backli… You get three DR50+ contextual backlinks from domains that are already being cited by AI answer engines. This reinforces authority and entity alignment so your site is more likely to be selected by ChatGPT and Perplexity. And if you want to see whether your business is appearing across Google AI, ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Grok, check here (it's free): seo-stuff.com/free-audit
An analysis of 129,000 websites, 216,524 pages and 100,000 prompts determined the #1 secret to getting traffic from ChatGPT. It busts a lot of myths and lines up closely with what we’ve learned about how AI search systems retrieve, evaluate and reuse information. It also aligns with what SEO Stuff has been building over the past year: seo-stuff.com/ai-seo Let’s break it down. Headline first: backlinks mattered more than anything else. The SE Ranking study found that sites with 32,000+ referring domains were 3.5x more likely to be cited by ChatGPT. Sites with very high domain trust also earned nearly 4x more citations than low-trust domains. If you want to see where your site stands across ChatGPT, Claude, Google and broader AI search, start here. It’s free: seo-stuff.com/free-audit ChatGPT may ignore some old-school SEO tricks, but authority clearly matters. High-authority domains are more likely to rank, get discovered, enter AI retrieval and ultimately get cited. That is why SEO Stuff's flagship package includes three contextually relevant DR50+ backlinks: seo-stuff.com/gold-plan-pack… Homepage traffic was another major signal. Sites with 7,900+ homepage visitors had twice the citation likelihood, while domains with 190,000+ monthly visitors earned nearly twice as many citations as smaller sites. That reinforces something important. AI search does not exist in isolation from traditional search visibility. If your domain has almost no presence across the wider search ecosystem, it has fewer opportunities to enter AI retrieval in the first place. This is why SEO Stuff content is built for Google and LLMs at the same time. Presence on Quora and Reddit mattered too. Domains with a lot of Quora and Reddit mentions had four times higher citation likelihood. Even smaller brands saw measurable lifts from participating in relevant discussions and being referenced organically. Those mentions can reinforce what the company does, which category it belongs to and whether real people are talking about it. Content depth also mattered. Articles under 800 words averaged 3.2 citations, while articles over 2,900 words averaged 5.1, but simply adding words is not enough. The stronger content included multiple angles, examples, expert quotes, verifiable data and broader topic coverage. That is the thinking behind the Premium Content Bundle: seo-stuff.com/premium-conten… It includes 60 long-form articles designed to build deeper coverage around the questions customers and AI systems are researching. Structure made a major difference too. Well-structured pages earned 70% more citations. The strongest pages used clean headings, relatively concise sections, logical progression, question-based H2s and clear answers. Walls of text and vague brand storytelling give LLMs much less they can reliably extract. Freshness mattered as well. Pages updated within the previous three months nearly doubled their citations, with older pages averaging 3.6 citations compared with 6.0 for recently updated content. Newer does not automatically mean better, but keeping important pages current clearly matters. Question-based titles and FAQs also helped, particularly for smaller sites, when combined with depth, authority and good structure. LLMs.txt, on the other hand, did almost nothing. Its impact was negligible. Authority, structure and useful content mattered far more. Review platforms were another strong signal. Brands appearing on Trustpilot, Capterra, G2, Sitejabber and Yelp earned three to six times more citations than brands with no presence. That is another reminder that AI systems do not evaluate your company only through your own website. Third-party reputation matters. Core Web Vitals mattered too. Fast pages were cited three times more often than slow pages. You do not need perfect scores, but you do need to avoid a site that is painfully slow or difficult to use. So what actually drives ChatGPT visibility? The study points to backlinks, domain trust, homepage authority, Reddit and Quora presence, deep content, clear structure, recent updates, review platform visibility and fast performance. In other words, many of the fundamentals that help you in Google also help you in AI search, with additional social, structural and entity signals layered on top. This is exactly what SEO Stuff was built around: seo-stuff.com The Done-For-You Gold Plan combines 10 long-form, AI-search-optimized articles with three DR50+ contextual backlinks: seo-stuff.com/gold-plan-pack… The Premium Content Bundle adds 60 deep-dive articles designed to expand topical coverage and give search and AI systems more useful information to retrieve: seo-stuff.com/premium-conten… And the Premium Backlink Bundle adds three DR50+ authority placements designed to strengthen domain trust and broader brand authority: seo-stuff.com/premium-backli… Backlinks were the strongest factor in the entire study. But the broader takeaway is that AI search visibility comes down to authority, clarity, depth, structure, trust and freshness. And SEO Stuff was built to deliver exactly that. And if you want to see where your site stands across ChatGPT, Claude, Google and broader AI search, start here. It’s free: seo-stuff.com/free-audit

Sam Altman says the lessons you learn from failure are mostly useless: "The lessons I learned from success were very good, and I should have applied those more." "And the lessons I learned from failure were either fairly generic, and I kind of already knew them, or got in the way of something else." Most things don't work, and for so many reasons that the real cause is hard to pin down. When something does work, you can see exactly what to copy. That's how he treats what worked at Y Combinator and at OpenAI. Interested in AI? Follow @AiEvolutio58513 and never fall behind. I track ChatGPT, Claude, and every tool quietly changing how we work and create, then hand you the tested signals.

The most famous phone in the Musk universe does not exist, has never been announced, and he publicly dismissed the entire category six years ago. Meanwhile he spent $17 billion on something almost nobody noticed. Not a handset. The frequencies every handset is legally required to use. A phone rumoured since 2021 with zero announcements. A satellite network that already works on the phone you own. 15,000 satellites licensed last month. Here’s what a telecoms analyst would tell you if they could speak freely: “Everyone quotes the 2022 tweet and nobody reads it. It says: ‘I certainly hope it does not come to that, but, yes, if there is no other choice, I will make an alternative phone.’ That is a conditional, posted in reply to someone else, about Apple and Google possibly removing Twitter from their app stores. The condition never happened. Two years earlier he had posted something much clearer: ‘Smartwatches & phones are yesterday’s technology, Neuralinks are the future.’ So look at what the money did instead. In September 2025 SpaceX agreed to buy about $17 billion of EchoStar spectrum — $8.5bn cash and $8.5bn in stock — for 50 MHz of AWS-4 and H-block licences. He didn’t want to sell you a phone. He wanted to own the band your phone transmits on.” A phone is a product you buy once. Spectrum is a toll every phone pays forever. “Build the device and you compete with Apple. Buy the frequency and Apple competes with you.” Here are the 7 signals in the actual record:🧵 Signal 6 is the interference objection filed by the company that sells the service.

A guy walked into a BMW dealership in 2026 ready to replace his 7-year-old X5. He'd driven BMWs for 20 years. He knew what he wanted: another X5, gas engine, same as always. Then the salesperson started talking about "Neue Klasse," a new iX3, a different kind of iDrive, an electric X5, an electric M3, and 40 new or updated models coming by the end of 2027. He walked out confused. Was BMW going all-electric? Should he buy now or wait? Was the BMW he loved about to disappear? He called his brother-in-law an automotive engineer who spent 14 years working on drivetrain and vehicle software programs for German luxury carmakers and now consults on EV technology. His brother-in-law laughed. "BMW isn't killing the cars you love. It's rebuilding the entire company underneath them. The biggest investment project in BMW's history Neue Klasse is rolling out right now. The new iX3 is just the beginning. The way BMWs are built, the way they're powered, the computers that run them, the screen in front of you, the batteries, even the CEO all of it is changing at the same time. In 3 years, most of the BMW lineup will be new. Whether you want electric, gas, or plug-in hybrid, the BMW you buy in 2028 will feel very different from the one you're driving now." He walked him through 10 things in about an hour. The guy left knowing exactly what was coming and when it made sense to buy. He said: "I thought BMW's future was just 'more electric cars.' It's actually the biggest reinvention of the brand since the 1960s and almost no one outside the car world understands what's happening." Here are the 10 things his brother-in-law told him and why BMW's next few years could define the company for decades: 🧵

A couple had shopped at Costco almost every weekend for 8 years. They spent about $9,000 a year there. Groceries, paper goods, a TV, holiday gifts, tires. They had the basic $65 Gold Star membership and figured the Executive membership was just Costco upselling them. They bought gas at a station down the street with a regular credit card. They booked their family vacations on a travel website. They shopped Saturdays at noon and waited in long lines. At a birthday party, they mentioned Costco to her cousin a former Costco front-end and membership supervisor who spent 12 years at the warehouse, handling memberships, renewals, returns, and member questions. She did the math on a napkin. "You spent $9,000 last year on the basic membership. With Executive, you would have earned about $180 back in a 2% reward for an extra $65 a year. You're paying more for gas at that station than you would at Costco. You booked a rental car and vacation package without checking Costco Travel. You've been paying full price for restaurant gift cards Costco sells at a discount. And you're shopping at the busiest time of the week when Executive members can now shop an hour earlier. Costco gave you a membership card. You've been using it like a library card." She walked them through 10 things in about 30 minutes. They upgraded to Executive, switched their gas to Costco, started using the right credit card, checked Costco Travel for their next trip, and moved their shopping to early weekday mornings. She said: "I thought Costco was just cheap groceries in bulk. It turns out the membership is a whole system and we were only using the cheapest part of it." Here are the 10 things her cousin told them and why most Costco members are leaving hundreds of dollars a year on the table:🧵

A marketing manager was screen-sharing ChatGPT in a meeting with his boss and two clients. He typed: "Help me write a short intro for our new client proposal." ChatGPT replied with a polished draft and then added: "Since you mentioned you're going through a stressful divorce and looking for a new job, I kept the tone confident but not over-the-top." The room went quiet. He'd mentioned both things in personal chats months earlier. He had no idea ChatGPT remembered them, let alone that it would bring them up in a work chat. That night, he called his friend an AI trainer who has taught over 3,000 employees at companies how to use ChatGPT safely and effectively across 4 years. She asked him to open one settings page. "Your ChatGPT has been building a picture of you from every conversation. It remembers your divorce, your job search, your old manager's name, your kids' names, and a health question you asked last spring. It also has wrong information it still thinks you work at your previous company. You've never looked at what it knows. You've never separated work from personal. And you've been using it in front of clients with all of that switched on. Memory is one of the most useful features ChatGPT has. It's also the one most people have never opened." She walked him through 10 things in about 25 minutes. He deleted the personal memories, fixed the wrong ones, set up a separate space for work, and learned how to use memory on purpose. He said: "I thought ChatGPT started fresh every time. It doesn't. It's been learning about me for months and I never once checked what it learned." Here are the 10 things she showed him and why most ChatGPT users don't understand what it remembers about them:🧵

Your browser trusts a list of organisations that can create a valid certificate for any website on earth — including your bank’s. You have never seen the list. You did not vote on it. It shipped with your operating system. And I pitched this thread with the wrong number, so I’ll start by correcting myself. ~150 root certificates in Firefox. Nearly 3,000 intermediate CAs chaining up to them. Any one of them can vouch for any domain. Here’s what a PKI engineer would tell you if they could speak freely: “The figure people quote is the root count, and it’s the least interesting one. Mozilla’s own security blog puts it plainly: nearly 3,000 publicly trusted intermediate CA certificates chain up to approximately 150 roots embedded in Firefox. The padlock does not mean ‘this is your bank.’ It means ‘one of several thousand authorities asserted that this name belongs to whoever holds this key.’ And the names are not partitioned — nothing in the design restricts a Latvian or Panamanian CA to Latvian or Panamanian domains. In 2011 one Dutch authority issued at least 531 fraudulent certificates, and about 300,000 Gmail users in Iran had their traffic exposed as a result.” A system where every authority can impersonate every site, and one failure is enough. “Trust that cannot be partitioned cannot be revoked in time.” Here are the 7 trust failures on record:🧵 Trust 3 is the company that was bankrupt two months after its press release called its certificates among the most reliable in the field.

THIS FREE TOOL HAS 18 SKILLS ON MY MACHINE, AND I PAID NOTHING FOR ANY OF THEM. It's called Second Brain OS, and it's been out for under two months. I went through it. Here's what you actually get: — A 7-module agents course, from a single prompt to something you can ship — Five handbooks that go deep on one layer each: knowledge graphs, gates, harnesses, loops and evals — 114 vetted resources, and each one has a reason to be listed — A Claude Code plugin with 18 skills, 72 slash commands and 6 subagents — A second brain your agent builds and maintains for you, in plain markdown files The second brain is the part I'd steal. You drop articles, PDFs, transcripts and chat exports into one folder. The agent reads them, writes one page per idea, and links everything together. When something new arrives, it updates the page you already have instead of piling a second one next to it. So the thing gets better as it grows, not just bigger. A second brain app is $10 to $20 a month. An AI agents course is $500 or more. This does both, in plain text files on your own machine, for free.

I stopped doing these 7 things manually. AI handles them in under 60 seconds now 👇 1. Long PDF → 5-line summary + the numbers that matter 2. Meeting transcript → action items with owners and deadlines 3. Messy email thread → reply in your own tone 4. Raw Excel data → charts + 3 insights you'd have missed 5. New topic → 1-hour learning plan with resources 6. Rough idea → outline, draft, and 5 headline options 7. Job post + your resume → tailored cover letter Here's what most people get wrong: They type: "Summarize this." Try this instead: "You're my chief of staff. Summarize this for a busy founder in 5 bullets. Flag risks. Skip the fluff." Same tool. Completely different output. The 3-part prompt formula I use daily: → Role (who should it act as?) → Context (who is it for, and why?) → Format (bullets, table, length?) Add those 3 lines and your results jump instantly. AI isn't replacing people. People who prompt well are replacing people who don't. Save this. Try one today. Anthropic just quietly told its AI coding tool to stop building copies of other people’s video games. No press release. No blog post. No announcement. A two-sentence rule pushed to Claude Code’s server-side instructions around October 27, discovered by users 3 days later, confirmed by Anthropic on October 30. The rule: “Do build original games, games in a genre, and games from the user’s own designs and assets. Do not build recreations of existing specific video games, even if it is renamed or called original.” Two sentences. That’s all it took to draw the first real line between “AI can help you build anything” and “AI won’t help you copy someone else’s work.” The reaction was immediate and split down the middle. Indie game developers celebrated their games have been getting cloned by AI tools at a pace that threatens their livelihoods. AI enthusiasts were furious they see restrictions on what AI can build as the beginning of a slippery slope toward limiting creativity itself. Both sides have a point. Neither is seeing the full picture. Here’s what Anthropic actually did, why it matters far beyond video games, and what this decision signals about the future of AI and intellectual property 🧵
