A new HHS review identified six forms of fraud in the Unaccompanied Alien Children (UAC) Program during the Biden administration which contributed to children being placed in unsafe situations.
HHS is prioritizing child safety by rooting out fraud and strengthening sponsor vetting and oversight for the UAC program.

🚨NEW: The Trump Administration has uncovered 6 forms of fraud in the Unaccompanied Alien Children Program that occurred during the Biden Administration.
Between October 2023 and October 2024, the Office of Refugee Resettlement received 1,669 reports of sponsor-related fraud within the UAC Program. ORR reviewed these cases and found that the average rate of intentional document or information fraud exceeded 75%.
So far, ORR has identified fraud in the previous administrations UAC Program in the forms of:

❌Manipulated photographs
❌Address fraud
❌Fingerprint fraud
❌Failure by potential sponsors to fully disclose household members
❌And unaccompanied children misrepresenting their age

ACF announced unborn children are now considered “candidates for foster care,” which gives expectant parents access to federally-funded prevention services to help strengthen families.
As @ACF_Adams told @MaryMargOlohan, the change is “designed to protect that family, stabilize that family, keep that child safe, so that foster care is not needed in the first place.”

ACF’s new proposed Head Start rule aims to empower local Head Start leaders, not federal bureaucrats, to build programs that meet the needs of the low-income parents and communities they serve.
In a new report from AEI’s Conservative Education Reform Network, authors overview how decades of federal micromanagement via regulation have resulted in dwindling enrollments and increasing costs, and how ACF’s proposed rule offers a good beginning to revitalizing the Head Start program.
