Nice milestone for the new business - our first commercial filming job for the @UKCanCouncil at @Fieldfisher Law Firm. Cracking event - speakers were spot on and enjoyed recording tons of vox pops with Holly.

Our research findings and policy recommendations highlighted in this article by @VoltefaceHub on the “hidden harms” faced by cannabis patients
🧵1/ Cannabis has been legal for medical use in the UK since 2018, but patients still face stigma. A new study explores how prohibitionist attitudes persist. 👇 volteface.me/stigma-and-ineq…

A few thoughts on @Product_EarthUK Holding an event to celebrate and explore the use of a drug most people use illicitly (as opposed to medically) is pretty bold and in many respects a ticking time bomb. Moving the venue to a spot which historically has zero tolerance to drugs is even bolder. I have been to a few drumshed raves and the security is a nightmare. Seen many a fellow raver be carted off for a police search looking sheepish. Cannabis Europa is obviously on the commercial side and Product Earth I guess offered something more consumer focused where the plant and culture could be celebrated. The problem is I am not sure this celebration can be done in the UK unless it’s way out in the country on private land (with a hands off approach) and very low profile….or framed as a protest like 4/20 Hyde Park with no commercial intention. The event obviously shut down due to people not obeying the rules but at the same time it was an inevitable problem. Move from a venue in the middle of nowhere (where people could smoke weed outside with no intervention) to an anti-drugs venue with security who searched everyone for cannabis on entry (and creates two hour ques). Then tell people they can’t consume cannabis (unless a patient whom 99% cannabis users are not) but at the same time surround them with cannabis information. It’s like inviting people to a drinks festival and asking them to only look at the beer. I respect the attempt at bringing three worlds together (medical use, rec use and commercial companies) but honestly not surprised in the slightest day 2 was cancelled. I personally want to see this sort of event a success and would love the UK to be more progressive, but when it comes to commercial events you have the engage with the world as it is, not how you want it to be.

I am the sole Director and owner of @VoltefaceHub I can confirm we are funded by: 1. Big Tobacco 2. Alcohol companies 3. Personal (pretty big) donations from @cjsnowdon Personally I think we should ban everything and have a huge paternalistic government but money talks

1/ 🧵 Labour’s proposed smoking ban in pub gardens is a solution in search of a problem. This isn’t about public health; it’s about moral posturing. Here’s why this policy is an unnecessary attack on personal freedom and common sense. ⬇️ volteface.me/labour-smoking-…

Been seeing these posters all over North London where I live. They are advertising 'premium flower and edibles' with images of a woman on a cannabis leaf and someone in a balaclava smoking, and a QR code Sadly, cannabis is still illegal in the UK. So what's going on? 1/🧵

The Czech Republic is pursuing a full commercial cannabis market according to rumours this morning. Going one step further than Germany's proposals, they wish to establish a regulated cannabis market.

Did you read this one I wrote a while back on irradiated cannabis? For @VoltefaceHub Was a very tricky and interesting article to work on…found some pretty concerning research: volteface.me/what-is-irradia… I understand why some might prefer irradiated but personally, I’d avoid.
📊 Should MedBud wear a warning on irradiated #MedicalCannabis flower products about limited safety studies/data on the long-term effects of consumption? Lee O’Doherty has prepared a paper with citations outlining potential risks, please discuss below: docs.google.com/document/d/1…
