The pedestrianisation of Oxford Street.
What we thought it would look like and what it actually looks like 🙁

Cyclists are continuing to ride along the newly pedestrianised section of Oxford Street, despite being asked to dismount.
Around seven security staff have been stationed near Oxford Circus, calling out to cyclists to get off their bikes, with mixed success.

LORD KHAN has some front gaslighting over pedestrianising OXFORD STREET. Meanwhile almost every tube sevice in London this morning is subject to severe delays. Get your priorities right and stop passing the buck on to Tfl. You are the Mayor. Your job is to deliver London Transport!

Labour tells the British public to stock up on tinned food and wind-up radios to prepare for cyberattacks.
Yet after the devastating attack on JLR, estimated to have cost up to £2.1 BILLION, the Government still hasn’t publicly named those responsible.
How can Britain deter hostile states if we won’t name those attacking us?
The British public deserve answers.

@VoteTimBarnes is absolutely right to call out this rushed rollout. With a £150m price tag, Londoners deserve proper planning and clear accountability.
Where is that same urgency for safer streets and stronger policing? Keeping Londoners safe should be the @MayorofLondon first priority.
🛣️ Oxford Street is traffic-free from today. "We'd have had a much better scheme if we'd launched it next year." Westminster's Deputy Leader Cllr Tim Barnes on the Mayor's artificial deadline, BBC London. #TwoCities #Conservatives #Westminster #London #OxfordStreet

We have a zero emission zero waste business in Soho and have worked 30 years in climate change, green energy and sustainability, the pedestrianisation of Oxford Street will deny occasional shoppers cabs, busses and bikes, while burying residents in traffic. It’s a bad idea.

Oxford Street goes traffic-free tomorrow.
Cllr Elliot Keck on what it means for Hyde Park:
🚗 Traffic pushed onto residential streets
🚌 The 94 cut back to Marble Arch
💷 £150m that could have gone on policing

Oxford Street goes traffic-free tonight. We wanted it to be the best it could be. The Mayor's artificial deadline meant it couldn't be, and we would have had a much better scheme next year. Tim Barnes on BBC London. #WestminsterMatters #Westminster #CityThatWorksForAll

Hammersmith & Fulham residents will be hit by the largest council tax increase ever next year. Bills are set to increase by 150% or £1500 per year. Yet @HFLabour refuse to join nearby councils to oppose the government’s funding reforms causing this. 👇

The Treasury’s entrepreneurship adviser has announced she is quitting.
Alex Depledge tells my colleague @hannahprevett start-ups are treated as a “sideshow” and a “nice to have”.
“Entrepreneurship can’t be seen as a good news bonus on the margins of economic policy. That mentality is really dangerous for British business as a whole…”
Depledge due to leave her role on Thursday, the day after the Budget.

We did stated according to TfL. You can use their journey planner to check. We agree Seymour Mews must be wrong but we are talking TfL. The east bound buses were meant to run along Henrietta Place.
