NEW: Education Minister Paul Calandra tells me he's "very excited" to have Stan Cho on his team, and that the "quality of his work since he's been an MPP is literally second to none." Premier Ford announced Cho will be joining Calandra’s team as a parliamentary assistant — just three months after Cho resigned from cabinet for charging taxpayers $16,000 in Toronto hotel stays. The new role comes with a $22,500 pay bump. Ford declined to comment. Story: thetrillium.ca/insider-news/…

Parents were promised answers. Instead, some are waiting months. Just last month, the Ford government promised parent inquiries would be acknowledged within two business days, with answers targeted within five. Now, TDSB school councils say they’ve been waiting since July for substantive responses from the government-appointed supervisor. An issue plaguing many boards across the province. Parents deserve meaningful engagement, not less of a voice in their public schools. 🔗 bit.ly/4dD7DrU #OSSTF #OntEd #TDSB

Just a timely reminder that freedom of the press is a fundamental, constitutionally protected, feature of our democracy. The comments expressed by the Premier above are, unfortunately, shared by those at the highest levels in the Premier’s Office — a feeling of distain that is felt almost daily. #onpoli

I know that @PaulCalandra says #OntEd teachers shouldn't post our complaints about his Ministry's errors on the internet, but after I posted and was interviewed by the lovely @CBCLorenda, Staples quietly changed the prices on items I highlighted. Here's what they look like today:

UPDATE: ETFO, the union representing elementary school teachers, has also reached a bargaining impasse. Talks are paused while it takes the same dispute over central vs. local bargaining to the Ontario Labour Relations Board, joining OSSTF and OSBCU.
NEW: Some Ontario education contract talks have stalled before they’ve even begun. The first fight isn’t over wages or class sizes: it’s over the bargaining rules themselves. OSSTF and OSBCU say the Ford government is trying to move more decisions from local bargaining tables to Queen’s Park. The dispute could delay talks for weeks or even months.
