2024 WISE Prize for Education Finalists - AREAi! 🎉 🥰🎊 We are beyond elated to announce that we’ve just been selected as one of the six finalists for the 2024 (@WISE_Tweets) Prize 2024 for Education for our foundational learning Programme - FastTrack! 💪🏽 Through this annual award, The World Innovation Summit of Education (WISE) and the Qatar Foundation seeks to recognize the leading organisations for their outstanding contribution to education globally while advancing support for remarkable programs addressing some of the world’s pressing challenges for access to quality and early childhood education. Look who made the News! 🎉 🎉 🎉 We are truly excited about this new feat of achievement as a collective at AREAi, haven been listed as one of six finalists for the 2024 WISE Prize for Education, for our FastTrack Program! We are truly proud of the dedicated efforts of our team over the years in the implementation of FastTrack! Since its pilot in 2019, the program has been scaled widely as an indigenous solution with significant evidence of impact in improving reading and arithmetic proficiency levels for over 25,000 children across ten refugee camps. In appreciation to The World Innovation Summit of Education (WISE) - @WISE_Tweets and the Qatar Foundation, our Founder and Global Director, Prince Gideon Olanrewaju (@LanreShaper) expresses his gratitude stating that - “We are grateful for this recognition as it is testament to FastTrack’s incredible potential in providing tailored instructional support, meeting personalised learning needs and enabling further educational access to millions of refugee learners and out-of-school children. We remain resolute in its mission to have FastTrack adopted within and across camps and communities across Africa, via collaboration with national and local government agencies as well as local refugee-led or community-based educational organizations.” Over the next 1 year, with funding support of over USD $125,000, capacity building and mentorship from the WISE Team, AREAi will be piloting FastTrack+, in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda, as it deploys this innovation in new languages and across different contexts. “It is such a delight to be in the running along with six other finalists for the 2024 WISE prize for Education which will not only embolden our vision of ensuring access to quality foundational learning opportunities at scale, but also put us on the path to sustainable long term impact.” states Gideon.
