Really useful post. Anna was Police Staff member and a DPA Executive member. Thanks for sharing Anna @DisabledPolAssn
I really wanted to share this. We underestimate the impact that disability has on our mental health. Marakesh who is an Able network member shared her story for two reasons …To increase awareness and to help with her recovery ….this actually made me cry

Everyday trauma exposure is becoming increasingly accepted as part of policing, yet there are no means of quantifying it. The world's first 'Police Traumatic Events Checklist' enables UK police forces to do just that. policecare.org.uk #policefamily #MentalHealthMatters
.@policecareuk has launched the Police Traumatic Events Checklist, PTEC - a comprehensive checklist to describe & capture experiences of everyday trauma.
We urge all @PoliceChiefs to promote use of PTEC as a supportive tool to track ongoing trauma exposure faced by our officers.

Didn't spot the vans, but did have a chat to some of you yesterday (was there for the day job) 😀
We’re excited to be launching our new OK9 vans at the @emergencyukshow in Birmingham today! We’ve funded two brand new vans to recognise the huge impact our @OscarKiloNine dogs have made on police wellbeing. If you’re at the ESS, come by stand E55, meet us & see one of the vans.
When you realise your key ring can double up as a fidget spinner. Bonus! 😀

Having a relative with #dementia can be really unsettling for children.
This video can help them to understand the changes in their relative's memory and behaviour, and gives some practical tips for communication.
