‼️She spent five years unable to conceive only for Israel to murder her entire family. Palestinian grandmother and survivor of the Israeli genocide in Gaza, Taghreed al-Kurd's full testimony: Taghreed Al-Kurd, a Palestinian grandmother from Gaza, travelled abroad for years of fertility treatment before she had Ola, Omar, Adam and little Sama. In the first week of the genocide, as the Israeli occupation carpet-bombed residential neighbourhoods across Gaza, a strike on the house next door blew apart the whole area around her home. Omar and Sama were killed, and Adam was left in a coma. Then the occupation’s control over who may leave Gaza forced another choice on her. Adam was approved for treatment abroad, but his father and his uncle were refused permission to go with him, so Taghreed had to leave her pregnant daughter Ola behind to stay at her son’s side. While she was away, Ola was killed, and her baby survived. Less than two weeks later, Adam died in a foreign hospital without his mother beside him. The Israeli occupation bombed her home, decided who could travel with her wounded son, and kept her family split across a border while it killed them. Out of four children she fought years to have, only Ola’s baby is left. @TRTArabi

“I’m raising the next generation,” Saleh Al-Jaafarawi says, smiling as he helps a line of children take turns wearing his press vest, in one of the last videos filmed before his killing. “Even if they target us, the children will take our place and continue this mission.” Days later, on October 12, 2025, just after the ceasefire was announced, Saleh was out in Gaza City filming the destruction the Israeli occupation had left behind when gunmen opened fire on him. Palestinian sources say the gunmen were collaborating with the occupation, and that they shot him seven times. He was 27. Through two years of genocide, he had refused to leave Gaza, documenting the bombardment and spending months as the target of an Israeli occupation campaign to discredit his work. One year on, the children he dressed in that vest are still living through the bombardment he spent his life recording. shuoli (IG)
