"Trump’s departure from the will of the American people—including, on some issues, his own electoral base—is now catching up with him. Increasingly, Americans are paying more attention to Trump’s foreign policy decisions—and they do not like what they see. Much of Trump’s foreign policy is not just unpopular abroad; it is also unpopular at home."

I rarely laugh at any clip of Trump. This one made me laugh. Because first, I can’t believe this is 60 Minutes. And second, Trump has never sounded more weak and pathetic.

I love how MAGA apologists who ignored or even celebrated Trump’s character flaws now suddenly discover them and pretend to be brave truth tellers. When it would have cost them, they happily promoted the cult. Now they’re like “oh my God it’s a cult! Why can’t you see it?!”
Megyn Kelly: “Trump has cheated on every wife he’s had. He met Marla Maples while he was married to the mother of his children Ivana. Ivana accused him of raping her. She alleged he was so angry over the hair transplant he got that she made him get, it was so painful that he raped her. He winds up with Melania and if you think Trump’s been faithful to Melania, you’ve got bigger issues than I can solve”

One crucial thing to watch is how many US and Ukrainian assets Trump tries to give to Russia in the next three months. Probably deserving of a real-time investigation of its own.

I’ll add that the fish rots from the head, and rots all the way through eventually. Corruption makes everything more expensive—that is less affordable—for everyone. Tariffs were a power grab that raised inflation. Playing favorites reduces competitiveness. Etc.
Trump is a corrupt president and he’s not even trying to hide it. While Americans are struggling to put food on the table and pay for gas, Trump has made more than $2 billion in his second term in office. All from crypto scams, sweetheart deals with foreign nations, and tens of thousands of stock trades. The only person he works for is himself.

Wait, Trump told us their nuclear program was completely obliterated so all the cost of the war in lives, injuries, money, destroyed bases, aircraft, depleted missile stocks, gas/diesel prices, on and on were all worth it. Now we’re giving out rewards to people to help us? WTF?

Look at how the right is reacting to this news. Miller is the freak who slandered Alex Pretti as a would be assassin after he was murdered by federal agents. The right loved it and loved seeing Miller dance on his grave. This is your signal that the right sees itself at war with the majority of the country post midterms and is willing to impose its agenda even if that means killing more people. Americans just rebuked the entire GOP agenda. Hardline Republicans now are a small minority of extremists whose views are repugnant to the majority, and their response to midterms has been to promote the white nationalist in the White House and barricade the doors. Democrats have a mandate to fight Miller, the admin, and the right with every ounce of power voters have given them.

🧵On this whole ridiculous PR campaign: can you imagine leading one of the largest organizations in the world, entrusted with protecting the security of the United States. & not only is your sole big concern maximizing your own personal career aspirations. But you enlist the entire public affairs apparatus of the Pentagon to demonstrate that your only concern, in an org of nearly a million people, is your own job security.

As possibly the only person in American politics less popular than Trump himself, it makes perfect sense. An autocrat's circle always grows smaller as ruthless loyalty out of complicity becomes the only relevant qualification.
Steven Miller's immigration policy has taken arguably the GOP's best issue and made it a liability. He, second only to Trump himself, is responsible for blowing up the multiracial coalition that elected Trump in 2024 and sparked the GOP's dream of a multiracial working class coalition. He's also probably the single most despised person in American politics. So of course, Trump appointed him Chief of Staff after getting humiliated at the polls. It's so perfect.

"a complete solution." He is the descendent of Holocaust survivors so his use of this phrase is interesting, as is the aestheticization of White supremacist policy as "elegant."
