The difference between Mario and Gretzky? Mario didn’t just score goals- he invented ways to score them 😂 Never-before-seen, pulled off with pure creativity and having fun with it 🏒⛳ The only golf-shot tip in NHL history Mario Lemieux was different. 🐧

Once again, I will die on this hill. Terry Fox. Man ran 42 kilometers every day for 143 consecutive days. On one leg.
Who is the greatest athlete in sports history?

Someone in #Edmonton had enough time in his or her life to point out that the #Oilers hire only coaches with phallic inferences in their name.😳😱🤣 #NHL #Gretzky #Leafs

What a response after a horrendous first 25 mins. It says a lot that they didn't get rattled and were able to score 4 straight goals afterwards. Next step is to close this thing out on Saturday.

You know what the hockey world needs? Summit series. Canada vs. USA. Seven games. NHL rules. Yanks won the Olympics so they'd get home ice advantage. OT would be five-on-five, just like the playoffs. It would be the greatest thing we've ever seen.

Anyone who dreams of a future where a goaltender will save our nation from defeat by a foreign power, and receive membership in the Order of Canada, should support the Free Goalies initiative:
Brilliant, and timely; when will we ever have another goalie for PM? @MarkJCarney, it’s your chance to do something remarkable. Call it the Ken Dryden Program of Goaltending Excellence, headquartered in our former goalie factory, Quebec. Free equipment is just the beginning.

I’m fully in support of waiving playing/registration fees for goalies. The equipment and training costs are exponentially higher and the quality of development received is vastly inferior. There are too many barriers to entry for the position and it’s hurt Canadian goaltending.
If you’re Canadian and you have a son, you MUST put him in goalie training. Right now. We have a goalie epidemic on our hands here.

Hockey newbs: This is the kind of pissy loser energy you want to avoid when your team loses a big game. Try to get past the immediate anger and sadness of the moment before embarrassing yourself on the internet.
Honestly if you’re an American celebrating that win you’re a casual who doesn’t know puck. Totally fine, grow the game.

Had CAN lifted the stick into his own face, it would be different. Instead, he attempts a stick lift as FIN attempts a puck swat. This changes the trajectory of the stick, but doesn’t drive it into his own face. Borderline call, but no clear intention by either. Embellishment=✅
You have to ask yourself what each player is doing/thinking to determine what happened. FIN tries to flick puck away one handed. CAN tries to lift stick. The stick lift influences FIN’s stick, but doesn’t pop it into CAN’s face. That’s still high sticking.
