Malawi is being ruined by a government that has a president that’s a professor, Supreme Court judge vice, chief secretary with a PhD and instead of holding them accountable, their response is to discriminate against each other. Pathetic
Uneducated people should never vote.

As much as hes just trying to position himself for the next elections, the deafening silence and unified backlash from all political stakeholders towards Suleimans corruption fight should tell you everything. In addition, the silence from the everyday Malawian speaks volumes.

Children born in a time of peace find it hard to understand the cost of the peace they are enjoying. They believe the achieved peace was through votes & conferences. They truly believe peace is their right & no one can take it. Tell them the truth before they are destroyed

When i said that the Malawian trait of generational ass licking and gullibility is a direct result of our upbringing Amati ndikupenga
The effects of raising sheltered children who cannot question their parents or authority is a society of adults who believe everything they are told. They are easy to manipulate with slogans & will let politicians, religion & other people lead them into chaos, war & they perish.

We have members of parliament and cabinet ministers who have never read Montesquieu’s The Spirit of Laws, which talks about separation of powers. No good can come from leaders who are ignorant of their work. Lawlessness prevails when leaders don’t know the limits of their power.

Malawians will say “dont use charcoal” then make every alternative economically, logistically and practically impossible to use.

The wars in Iran and Ukraine have caused Malawis economy and governance structures to collapse wayy before the structures in actual Ukraine and Iran have. Let’s accept it. No one is leading this Kleptocracy.

As Malawians, we should be thoroughly ashamed of our poverty, our collective failure and the pathetic state of our nationhood. Perhaps that shame will finally jolt us into action. A nation cannot normalise misery and still pretend to have dignity. Chifukwa izizi sindinzo.

Exceeded only by ERITREA AND SUDAN. Do you understand the levels of mismanagement and general uchitsilu you have to be doing to be in any conversation with BOTH of those countries? Koma obadwa mma 1900s atiwonongera dzikoli eish
Malawi's fiscal position is becoming increasingly difficult to sustain. The World Bank projects fiscal deficits of 9.8% of GDP in 2025, 8.9% in 2026 and 8.5% in 2027. General government debt is projected to reach 111% of GDP in 2026, among the highest in Africa — exceeded only by Eritrea and Sudan. This is no longer just a fiscal problem. It has become a debt problem — and a monetary one.

I once said that Malawians as whole, we’re a society taught to not take responsibility . This trait is pervasive in how we see things. Death, politics, poverty etc. Ultimately, You cant develop a nation that wont even take responsibility for its economy and future.

This is the economy they’re so proud to have stabilised btw
Peter Mutharika’s regime used 13.9 million US dollars (funds for a World Bank project) from Blantyre Water Board (BWB) to procure maize from Zambia. BWB is always in the news for the wrong reasons, but the Board Chair has the guts to threaten people for demanding accountability.
