An easy win today.
Win now at u12-u18. Pick January born, early maturing big kids and kick the ball deep to pressure.
Win forever…
Lead each child from baseline to better regardless of birth month or physical advantages.

In youth football (U14 and below) goals must be scored inside the box.
See way too many goals from "unrealistic" scenarios where the ball loops over the keepers head.
This validates shots from locations that usually do not go in at the older ages.

No Coaching is better than Bad Coaching.
When players aren’t coached at all, they rely on their own intelligence to make decisions.
Bad coaching restricts and interferes with players’ ability to make their own decisions.
No Coaching > Bad Coaching

Had an interesting thought today💡We always seem to have subtitles on? Even though I don’t need them, my eyes are drawn to them. It’s almost like having a book read to me, so… wouldn’t this work the same way with kids? Parents, leave them running & let’s see what happens! 📖📺

I hope this is a wake up call for change in the NHL. Fans are losing interest.
-No rivalries
-lacking storylines
-more buzz around talk of trades then actual trades
-poor marketing of stars
-too many math equations
-horrible playoff format
Just to name a few things
NHL U.S. TV national viewership is down 22% this season, per findings from @AustinKarp.
NHL regular games to date have averaged 373,000 viewers on ESPN/TNT, 2nd season of the league's 7-year pact with Disney & Turner.
NHL averaged 478,000 viewers at this point last season.

Almost everyone knows about relative age effect. Yet the vast majority of youth soccer is still predicated on where in the Tanner stages a kid is. It's a shame we haven't progressed further

A great coach may affect 10% of your game.
A bad coach can affect 90% of your game.
Do your research on what each club/coach is about.

I will never understand why schools remove play in an effort to focus on academics when we know that play is one of the very things we need in order to focus on academics.

my daughter reminded me today that:
youth coaching isn’t about making players or teams do things
youth coaching is about teaching players and teams how to do things on their own
