Primary Change 🇺🇸 Every primary/elementary school should have more recess time with gyms & patios filled with kids playing soccer. NO PHONES. That’s where Catalan kids learn their skills. 🇪🇸 2 hour lunch breaks. ▪️30 minutes to eat ▪️1.5 hours to play ▪️No Coaches #TOVO

One of my 2015 girl was, not sure what’s the right word to use but a bit rude and didn’t participating in the game. I spoke to her mom today because I thought she was disrespectful etc (long story) Then after talking to the mom. We think, She is SO scared to make mistakes.

So true! How many coaches can do this?
If our athletes are to take ownership of decision making in the arena we must avoid stepping in to make their decisions for them.

I think we all have to remember this as coaches😉

The goal of practice isn’t muscle memory and making everything automatic. The real goal of practice is adaptability: making skills so diverse they fit the moment.

They are working out their own tactics. How to beat the other team while the SF sky is on fire.

Young athletes do not learn through exposure to your coaching ideas. They learn from practicing ideas in context. And from returning to those ideas repeatedly to reinforce them in context. Train accordingly. #TOVO

What’s going on with the youth soccer here in NorCal? The behavior of both coaches and parents are so bad. Today I saw parents and a coach surrounding a referee after a game. Parents shouting and sideline coach like crazy. Kids crying if they don’t get to play where they want🤷‍♀️

A session plan shouldn’t be a script to follow blindly, it’s a guide. It ensures the session stays on track while allowing flexibility to adapt based on what the players need.

You can have beautiful technique and still fail under pressure. Why? Because skill isn’t just movement—it's movement + context. Skill = using your abilities to solve problems in real time. Technique is only one piece. #PROFramework #coaching

Designing the right problem is more powerful than delivering the perfect answer. That’s how you develop adaptable players.

A coyote stoled one of my big cones yesterday in the middle of our practice. He looked so happy when he ran away with it😂

Last game of the season and omg how far they come in only 2 seasons. I train them 100% TOVO and it showed. I’ll miss them all and I wish them luck. Now I’m off to new adventures to SF Elite and I’m so exited😁 @_ToddBeane @sfelitesc

I was reflecting on this moment from this winter when we won the San Francisco futsal leag. When I got this group of “misfits” from copper to gold different teams. I thought, let’s just have some fun and let them be in charge. I couldn’t believe it,we won!
