Discern your own inner state. That is being sovereign to yourself. When we get whipped up by external noise & tremble that out through our nervous system, it is palpable to all. Energetic boundaries take work. Let your breath help. It's an inside job...

In 10 yrs of practise as a nutritional therapist & yoga teacher, I am yet to come across anyone that has not wanted to make changes to improve their health. It's complex, layered & nuanced. This is rarely factored in to mainstream discussions. Be careful of assumptions.

We're in Venus Retrograde, a cycle repeating every 19 months, offering personal review of: love, friendship, creative endeavour, money + how we truly feel about ourselves. From 3rd October, through to 14th November. A 40 day cycle. Surf the waves! Come out clearer + stronger

With coherent breathing, we are in sync, measurably, with the resonance of Earth, 7.83hz. Breathe.....and everything changes. Breathe in for 6 seconds and out for 6 seconds. Mouth softly sealed (nose breathing), belly encouraged to move, an even flow All this takes practice

Small steps and we still climb our mountain. Whether Scafell or the inner summits we tackle within our own psyche. One step is a beginning, progress, an action.

The heart is the Venusian centre. The Anahata chakra. The Unstruck Sound. With a gentle heart, we allow any heavy debris to surface + be integrated. Yoga is ultimately a practice of integration. So the past no longer weighs so heavily as it has been reviewed, understood, felt.

'How deep is your love' is a song lyric that springs to mind for this Venus retrograde cycle - where are psychological patterns undermining your own contentment and sense of Self?

Yin yoga opens up the myo-fascial network, akin to an embodied acupressure hour, we feel into the benefit of duration. The willingness to hold strong or indeed lightly. Or sometimes simply just hold it all together on some days! Autumn yin container: reservie.net/hub/wholly-alig…

Ritual is deeply somatic - profound and effective ways to release. In Peru, whilst on a yoga training woven with the local Andean curendera culture, we sat around the fire lit ourselves in the outside, spoke difficult things in a circle and then buried our weapons/wounds.
A Native American grief ritual from the 14oos was studied at Johns Hopkins.. It processed trauma 6x faster than talk therapy. (Therapists' associations tried to discredit it) 👇 🧵

“A physician’s training is not complete until it integrates the wisdom of his or her patients.”
“I was tired, burned out, and burned up. I did not have the heart to fight to convince others that caring counts, acupuncture works, the unborn have intelligence, or maternal/child health is more important than mechanical hearts, organ transplants, and most medical research.”

I wrote this book to help others living with kidney transplantation. When the gift is realised of our wounds, they become our wisdom. As deep we dive, as high we rise. Wholly Aligned, Wholly Alive: awakening your Inner Physician whollyaligned.com/books

Autonomy, agency + sovereignty take time to cultivate. When navigating complex health discussions, it's key to understand what's going on. It is easy to be overwhelmed, so write questions down to take to your appointments. Take a trusted friend if that helps. #whollyaligned

What one focusses on, amplifies. Living with kidney transplantation and its myriad issues, it is key to understand, apply and live all the many ways there are to support the body to repair, heal and integrate. Otherwise it's game over very quickly, esp psychologically.

This is very, very poorly understood in renal medicine. So those navigating the system need to continually regroup, research according to personal intuition and interests, to live well. Without that, frailty, depression, anxiety, further illness can set in.

in 2016, after chest sepsis, virulent flu + transplant failure, I recovered swiftly, adapted to life on home peritoneal dialysis, continuing to run my business. Alongside all the other things that make up a life. And wrote a book. This is for you if you've had a kidney transplant

Mantra taps into various sacred sonics. A 40 day mantra is a repetitious act. A mantra that holds meaning and intention, is amplified by this repetition and how the sound vibrates through the mouth, the shape of the tongue, the whole body as a resonator.

Monday is the day honouring the Moon, just as 'month' stems from the word moon and hence lunar cycles A simple moon mantra: Om sri chandraya namaha Om and salutations to the energy of the Moon Chandra meaning Moon in Sanskrit
