Every other religion says you're saved through knowledge. You tell people what they should do, and they do it. Only Christianity is realistic enough about human nature to say that that will never happen.

We must keep in mind that it’s the Holy Spirit who gave us the Scriptures, it’s the Holy Spirit who enables us to understand the Scriptures, and it’s the Holy Spirit who directs us and enables us to apply the Scriptures to our daily lives.

It is always the sin inside you that attracts you to the evil outside of you and there is powerful grace for this struggle.

Our problem with sin is deeper than external temptation. Sin is a matter of the heart that expresses itself in giving way to temptation’s draw.

Abraham didn’t shoot for greatness, but faithfulness. When he set his sails on faithfulness, God made his name great. Greatness isn’t a kingdom motivation, but faithfulness is. Faithfulness involves God’s glory, excellence, and resilience. God handles greatness, our job is faithfulness. On earth being great is a product of how earth values you, however faithfulness flows from knowing heaven values you no matter what. You can be great on earth and lack value in heaven, but you can be faithful on earth and lack value on earth yet be immensely valued in heaven. 🙏🏿

"It would disturb me if there was a wedding between the religious fundamentals and the political right. The hard right has no interest in religion except to manipulate it."
Billy Graham, Parade Magazine, 1981.
