"Baptism saves." Peter said that. Then he told us what he meant: "not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God" (1 Pet 3:21).
Baptism saves. This fact alone should lead you to baptize your babies.

This woman literally wrote these words about Elisabeth Elliot: "There should be nothing shocking or scandalous about the mere discovery that Elliot was attracted to women as well as men." She based her assertion on claims made by an 88 year-old lesbian (a lesbian who'd spent decades trying to usher feminism and homosexuality into Christianity) which were then published by a homosexual "pastor." She calls this "carefully fact-checked." Yet she pretends she's the one being wronged somehow by Christianity Today taking the article down. 🤦🏻‍♀️
I still have not heard from @CTmagazine about why my carefully fact-checked article has been removed, apparently in contradiction of their corrections policy: brand.christianitytoday.com/…

Voting by noncitizens is extremely rare, it’s usually only a few tens of thousands in key swing states.
#BREAKING: 1,827 noncitizens removed from Florida's voter rolls cast 7,035 ballots.

You. Have. Got. To. Be. Kidding. Me. Christianity Astray is implying Elizabeth Elliot might have been a “bisexual.” An incredible new low from a garbage organization. This is @drmoore’s legacy.

I reject the false notion that for pro-life voters have to solve every other issue in the world before they can be deemed truly pro-life by those who have no issue with a baby in the womb being killed at any point for any reason.

Here’s why I think public executions are ok (done properly) and televised executions are bad. PUBLIC means some contingent of the community can see it and even report about it. Some pictures (carefully done) or artist renderings could be circulated. VIDEO means it will end up on every feed, school children around the world will see it, it will be recirculated, rewatched, unexpectedly and unwantedly seen, memed, taken out of context, cheapened, and used for bloodthirst and not merely justice. Even in Scripture it was only locally viewable and the criminal’s body was required to be taken down quickly. It wasn’t meant for permanent display.
Public execution: yes Televised execution: no

Complete contradiction with Scripture and the official Catechism the Roman Catholic Church taught for over 400 years. “The just use of this power, far from involving the crime of murder, is an act of paramount obedience to this Commandment which prohibits murder.” -CCC Trent
The death penalty is inadmissible because it is an attack on the inviolability and dignity of the person. The common good can be safeguarded and the requirements of justice can be met without recourse to capital punishment: effective systems of detention have been developed that protect citizens while at the same time do not completely deprive those who are guilty of the possibility of redemption. #NoDeathPenalty

Understanding history, this image is even better. Luther did not "Start the Reformation" to make a new church, like some claim. Neither did he do it to overthrow the papacy. Rather, he saw a sinful and unbiblical practice happening, the selling of indulgences, and he was upset that some traveling Catholics would dare scheme money from people under the pretense of approval of the magisterium. He wrote letters to the pope, honest and heartfelt, desperately requesting that this holy father would put a stop to these wicked clergy. He assumed that the papacy was unfamiliar with what was going on, and would be likewise outraged when the magisterium found out... But it turns out that the corruption ran much deeper than he assumed. Luther was stunned to find that rather than correction for people like Tetzel, the Magisterium seemed to protect him and defend his behavior. Of course this led Luther to writing more letters, traveling to Rome in person, doing everything he could to see the sale of indulgences resolved. Certainly, he thought, it was just a few bad apples. Certainly, he thought, Mother Rome would be eager to fix this corruption. This gradual realization that the corruption went all the way up to the pope, over the course of years, is not what many Roman Catholics hear about. Instead the online explanation is that one day some random dude decided to Mary a nun and start his own church. The history is well documented, many of the letters were made public, there really isn't an excuse for the false narrative to be promoted unless dishonesty is the goal.

This conclusion, it seems to me, can only be arrived at if you read Scripture with loads of metaphysical presuppositions that do not allow the text to say what it says.

Now that we won, can we talk about dumb it is that the Braves won their division and played a WILD CARD series. MLB has got to fix the playoff structure. Braves are playing a 3 game series against a divisional rival while the Guardians got a bye. Makes no sense.
