When I was starting out covering Congress, I knew less than nothing. Laura welcomed my questions, answered them, asked me about my family, my trips, my dog, eventually my kids. She is the best of what Capitol Hill can be. I will never forget her just immense kindness to me.
Vividly remember on Jan 6 the moment Laura Lytle yelled “What about us?” down to the Capitol Police who were rushing the senators off the floor.
She and staff helped make sure reporters got evacuated alongside senators.
