Our team at @Yale_EUS recently published a study on the average AOFT measurement (outside to inside in PSLA) for 223 dissection (both Type A and Type B) on #POCUS. On average, Type A was 4.65 cm, Type B was 3.94 cm. You can read it for free for 50 days at authors.elsevier.com/a/1lhZM…
A study from the Yale EUS group showing that 1 in 7 patients with a thoracic aorta > 4.5 cm on #POCUS had an aortic dissection in our cohort. Another reason to #echofirst #echo #ultrasound #emergencymedicine
Want to know how a dilated aortic root on #POCUS can help catch aortic aneurysm and dissection early?
Here you go, our new study has been published in American Journal of #EmergencyMedicine

PGY-2 EM Resident @ThomasFetherst1 MD, thanks his CO-I’s after presenting “Accuracy of Point-of-Care #Ultrasound in Detecting Retained Products of Conception” during the #ACEP24 Ultrasound Research Forum
Our section postdoctoral associate gave an amazing talk at #ACEP24 about aortic root dilation on POCUS and its association with aortic dissection. @HesamiMina
Congratulations to our graduating fellows @JjMDUS and @ZachBoivinMD!
What is the finding on this #POCUS during a medical cardiac arrest, and what is your management? #echo #echofirst #emergencymedicine #cardiacarrest @cmoore433 @RubbleEM @ZachBoivinMD @JjMDUS @jaffa_md @CBaloescu
What are the findings and diagnosis of this biliary #POCUS? What is the best next step in management? #ultrasound. @yaleem2 @cmoore433 @CBaloescu @RubbleEM @JjMDUS @ZachBoivinMD @jaffa_md
This biliary POCUS has a stone in the neck, a thickened gallbladder wall, and pericholecystic fluid. It also appears distended, which can also be seen in cholecystitis based on a recently published paper by former Yale POCUS fellowship grad @EUSmkh (shorturl.at/Q5RES)

Check out the latest @AnnalsofEM featuring regional anesthesia in the ED. Includes a manuscript by two of our past Section Chairs @MGottliebMD & @NagdevArun! Strong work by all! #POCUS @ACEPNow
Our wonderful @Yale_EM ultrasound section postdoctoral associate @HesamiMina presented a study at #SAEM24 on using natural language processing to identify incidental lung nodules that require follow up. @cmoore433
At #SAEM24, Doug Barber, one of the @yaleem2 residents, presented on the feasibility of VExUS in the ED. His study found that portal vein Doppler was easiest to obtain, with renal vein being the hardest. @Yale_EM @cmoore433
Congratulations to one of our amazing ultrasound section research assistants @jr_jeryong presenting an abstract on deep-learning generated B-line scores and their association with heart failure readmissions. @CBaloescu @cmoore433 #SAEM24
