Five years ago, the @ng_youthfund made a bet on young Nigerians. Today, YandyTech Community is proud to be part of the proof.
Happy 5th anniversary to @ng_youthfund, and thank you to LEAP Africa, the Ford Foundation and the MacArthur Foundation for building a fund that trusts young people to lead.
@ng_youthfund supported our Kaduna Digital Peace Promotion Advocates Project (KADPAP), which equipped young people in Kaduna to use digital spaces to build peace instead of division.
KADPAP didn’t end when the project did. It became the foundation for our @t4pclab initiative, where we keep bringing technology, young people and communities together for peace and civic participation.
That is what good funding does. It doesn’t just support a project. It plants something that keeps growing.
Here’s to five years of NYFF, and to the many youth-led ideas it will help take root across Nigeria.

@YandyTech is heading to COY21!
Through our climate initiative, the Youth Empowerment for Climate Action Network (YE-CAN), YandyTech Community will join young people from around the world at the 21st Global Conference of Children and Youth on Climate Change (COY21). It takes place in Antalya, Türkiye, from 5 to 7 November 2026.
At YandyTech, we believe young people should not only be part of climate conversations but also lead the solutions.
Through @OfficialYECAN, we are turning that belief into action by empowering young people through climate education, green skills, grassroots innovation and community-led sustainability initiatives.
Our participation at COY21 is an opportunity to amplify African youth voices, share experiences from our communities, build meaningful partnerships and contribute to global conversations shaping the future of climate action.
From our communities to the global stage, our commitment remains the same: empowering young people to build a more sustainable and climate-resilient future.
Follow our journey this week for updates from Antalya.

Building a Safer Digital Nigeria, One Conversation at a Time!
As Nigeria continues to embrace the opportunities of the digital age, the need to protect our digital space from cyber threats has never been more important.
On 20–21 October 2026, we joined stakeholders in Abuja for the 2026 Cybercrime Awareness Campaign and National Consultations, organised under the Joint Case Team on Cybercrimes (JCTC), with support from International IDEA’s RoLAC II Programme.
Representing us was our Chief Technology Officer, @MagagaAlamin who joined other key stakeholders in discussions and engagements focused on strengthening Nigeria’s response to cybercrime.
From an awareness walk at Eagle Square to technical conversations at the Federal Ministry of Justice, the two-day event provided an opportunity to raise awareness, exchange ideas and explore practical ways to tackle emerging digital threats, including the growing impact of Artificial Intelligence.
Guided by the theme “Securing Nigeria’s Digital Future: A Whole-of-Government and Whole-of-Society Response to Cybercrime,” one message stood out: creating a safer digital Nigeria is a shared responsibility.

Eight Years. Thousands of Stories. One Community.
Every journey begins somewhere. For some, it was their first tech training. For others, it was a workshop, a new friendship, a certificate, a mentorship opportunity, or that one experience that opened the door to something bigger.
For eight years, YandyTech Community has been part of many such moments. And behind every programme, event and milestone are people whose stories deserve to be remembered.
Were you part of the YandyTech journey? We want to hear from you!
As we celebrate 8 years of YandyTech Community, we are putting together a community archive to preserve the faces, memories and experiences that have shaped who we are today.
Have an old photograph from a YandyTech event? A certificate from your first training? A video, screenshot, memorable experience or story about how YandyTech impacted your journey?
We would love for you to share it with us.
Whether you joined us eight years ago or just eight days ago, you are part of this story.
Because YandyTech's story isn't just about the programmes we've organised or the milestones we've achieved. It's about the people who made it all possible.
Let's bring those memories together and tell our story through the people who lived it.

Every community has a story.
Ours has thousands.
It started with a door.
Over eight years, people have walked through it. Some came curious. Some came unsure. Some came with nothing but an idea and the courage to share it.
They joined our programmes.
They stayed to volunteer.
They stood in front of rooms and facilitated sessions.
They built solutions, showed up for their communities, and walked out with careers they once only imagined.
Somewhere along the way, their stories became ours.
So now, we’re handing them the mic.
Introducing HUMANS OF YANDYTECH, a series celebrating the people behind eight years of learning, innovation and community impact. One face, one journey, one story at a time.
And if YandyTech is part of your story, tell us in the comments. We’d love to hear it.

YandyTech at #BUILD2026!
YandyTech Community represented by our CTO, Alamin Musa Magaga, is presenting a paper at Africa's Shared Compute and AI Infrastructure Conference, hosted by the Nigeria AI Collective in Abuja.
"Where Should Africa Build AI Compute? An Evidence-First Framework for Shared Infrastructure Investment"
The big idea: Africa shouldn't pick a single winner for AI compute. Every country needs a different next step, from investigating sites, to building power and connectivity, to simply collecting better data. In fact, 23 of 54 African countries don't yet have enough public data to be compared.

Building Partnerships. Bridging the Digital Skills Gap. Creating Opportunities.
At YandyTech Community, we believe that equipping people with relevant skills and knowledge is essential to unlocking opportunities and preparing them for the future. This is why we are excited to announce our partnership with The Pathway Initiative for Guidance and Career Awareness!
Through this collaboration, both organisations will work together to deliver digital skills training, information technology programs, and other capacity-building initiatives designed to equip individuals with practical knowledge, relevant competencies, and the confidence to navigate an increasingly digital world.
From strengthening digital literacy and expanding access to information technology education to supporting continuous learning and skills development, this partnership seeks to create more opportunities for individuals to learn, grow, and apply their knowledge in meaningful ways.
We recognize that building a digitally empowered society requires collective effort. By bringing our expertise, resources, and shared commitment together, we aim to contribute to closing the digital skills gap while empowering more people to participate meaningfully in the digital economy.
This partnership represents another step toward our shared vision of a future where access to digital knowledge and capacity-building opportunities enables individuals and communities to thrive.
