HYDRA is now out @ThePlantCell! Arabidopsis can regenerate shoots without added hormones or sugars and photosynthesis-derived carbon gates cell cycle activation to make it happen. 1/6 academic.oup.com/plcell/adva…
My postdoc preprint is now online @biorxiv_plants. We established HYDRA, a shoot regeneration assay in Arabidopsis without exogenous hormones, and show that photosynthesis-derived carbon drives regeneration via RBR1 pathway–mediated cell cycle activation.

Revised version is now online in @ThePlantCell! The final version adds STM lineage tracing and the stm wus double mutant that fails to regenerate. academic.oup.com/plcell/adva…
In summary, HYDRA provides a regeneration assay allowing to study how the plant's own resources control regeneration, highlighting a regulatory role for photosynthesis-derived carbon. It also works in a broad range of dicots, suggesting a conserved capacity. 5/6
Grateful to @K_Sugimoto_Lab for welcoming me into her lab and for her support along the way. Thanks also to all co-authors and collaborators, including

Replying to @YetkinCakaInce @bookingcom
@bookingcom did the same to me. Still waiting for my flight refund. Over the waiting period now. No one is following up and I’m sick and tired of this poor service . #badservice
I thought using @bookingcom meant some level of safety — that we pay them to act as a buffer when something goes wrong with hotels on the other side of the world.
Turns out I was mistaken. @bookingcom takes no responsibility, still charges you, and tells you to deal with the hotel yourself.
Thanks for the revelation. I’ll never use your “services” again — and consumer rights bodies will hear about this case. @bookingcom
I filed a serious health complaint (garbage smoke, poisoning symptoms, forced early checkout). Booking.com acknowledged it, promised support — then went completely silent and ignored me for weeks.
No refund. No help.
This is unacceptable. Ref: 6481281215 @bookingcom

Not every paper requires a mechanism.
And it is certainly not a good idea to force authors to explore something just for a relatively weak Fig 5 just to say that the paper "has mechanistic insights"

🔥 Postdoc opportunity 🌱
The Legris lab at @UniNeuchatel 🇨🇭 is looking for a Postdoc to work on the regulation of branching by warm temperatures. If you have a background on plant physiology and development, and you're interested in shoot thermomorphogenesis, apply now! 🧬🔬🪴
