tokenization is non-negotiable "Every asset will be tokenized - private equity, real estate, fine wine. It’ll all trade 24/7 on permissionless networks like a stock." - @vladtenev in 10 years, trading assets on traditional 9-to-5 banking rails will look as absurd as sending a paper letter instead of an email

Tokenized private credit is not just an access problem. The real question starts after capital is deployed: who monitors the loans, how realistic is the NAV, and where does liquidity come from if investors want to exit early?

🗒️RWA Field Notes, Part 1 A tokenized asset is not always the asset itself. Most of the time, the token is just the onchain interface. The real question is what sits behind it: issuer, custodian, legal claim, redemption path, transfer rules, and the actual underlying asset. That is why two products can both be called RWAs and still have completely different risk. A tokenized Treasury, tokenized stock, private credit token, and real estate claim are not the same thing. Before looking at yield or ticker, ask one simple question: what does this token actually represent?

Crypto conferences feel like they have reached a different level this year. Not much time has passed since the last one, and we are already getting ready for the next stop. Faculty Group is heading to @DutchBlockWeek in Amsterdam, taking place from 22 to 28 June. Vic is already there ahead of the event, so if you are arriving early and want to connect, feel free to reach out (tg: @DonnieBrasco_Yelay). He will be happy to meet. Looking forward to another week of good conversations, useful meetings, and hopefully a bit of Amsterdam weather on our side.

Day 2 at @proofoftalk in Paris 🇫🇷 Beautiful venue, good people, and some very real conversations around tokenization and onchain finance. Also spent a bit of time in front of the cameras today, talking about the things we have been focused on for a while now.

Private credit led all tokenized asset classes by new launches across 2024–2025. 48 launches, ahead of stablecoins and Treasuries. That says something about where builders see demand. But more launches do not automatically mean better products. In private credit, the real work starts after issuance: reporting, repayment data, duration, collateral and who takes the first loss.

Hey hey, @proofoftalk at the Louvre is looking great 🇫🇷 The @Faculty__Group team, led by @yaroslavwr_ is in Paris, catching up with builders, investors and the people actually moving the space forward. Main stages are useful, but side events are still where most of the real conversations happen. Not the worst place to network either😉

DeFi TVL is down 13% since rsETH hack. Hard to blame those who withdrew their money after so many recent exploits. We as an industry needs to start taking security very seriously.

Polymarket has an overlooked detail that deserves attention. A large portion of the capital isn’t traded at all, it simply waits for event outcomes. In October, the value of these “pending” positions exceeded $4 billion. This money doesn’t move prices, doesn’t exit the system, and isn’t used for arbitrage. It just sits in smart contracts as collateral, ensuring that winners receive $1 per share. Naturally, a question arises: If these $4 billion aren’t used for trading, why can’t they generate income? The answer is simple: @Polymarket can’t do this. That collateral secures payouts. Any movement of funds introduces insolvency risk. If Polymarket started managing that money, it would legally become an investment fund or bank, immediately violating US regulations. Even depositing it in DeFi protocols like Aave would create liquidity risks, since withdrawals aren’t guaranteed at the moment of resolution. So Polymarket can’t “stake” this collateral itself. But the concept remains valid: the money is sitting idle, but it could theoretically work. Can this be solved? Yes, with a middleware layer. Polymarket wouldn’t manage the collateral directly. A separate protocol could sit on top of it. A yield layer for prediction markets. Here’s how it could work: → Positions on Polymarket are tokenized (“YES” → ERC-20). → Those tokens can be transferred to an external protocol without leaving the stake. → That protocol connects the collateral to yield-generating assets (Morpho, Lido, Ethena, Gearbox, etc.) under strict liquidity control, with the ability to return $1 liquidity to the share at any moment. → When the event resolves, liquidity flows back instantly, and winners get paid. This is where @YieldLayer fits in. Yelay is a Trusted Yield Environment designed to: • route liquidity among audited DeFi strategies, • guarantee reversibility, • auto-rebalance risks and yields, • operate as infrastructure, not custody. In this setup: Polymarket doesn’t alter its mechanics or custody user funds, so there’s no regulatory exposure. Participants simply earn yield while their positions await outcomes. This model benefits everyone: • Traders gain passive income during long waiting periods. • Liquidity deepens, reducing slippage and raising market efficiency. • The ecosystem gains a scalable financial layer built on top of prediction markets. In short: Polymarket can’t stake the $4 billion itself. It’s collateral, not capital. But tokenized positions can move through an external yield layer. Yelay can become that layer. The yield infrastructure that makes waiting profitable, without changing how prediction markets work.
