He is speaking the truth.
Worth two minutes of your time to hear Jimmy Rogers lay bare one of the main ills facing big-time college sports and the athletes themselves. Iowa State Daily's @henry_annen asked Rogers what he needs from new AD Jared Benko to elevate Iowa State football. Good stuff.

Players don’t quit teams. They quit transactional coaches. Saban breaks down why. 🎥

I really appreciate every one of you, yall have made me become a better person teammate and leader on and off the field i couldn’t ask for more. After my official visit at Wyoming I knew exactly where to call home coach Sawvel and coach Flea believed in me from the beginning and checked in on me and my family every week and that truly meant everything to me. With that being said I am here to announce that I am fully committed to the University of Wyoming. @wyo_football @wyoathletics @WyoFBRecruiting @CoachFlea @JaySawvel @CoachChristianT @BrewerHSFB @BrewerAthletics @247recruiting @247Sports @Marchen44 @swaggarly @Hayesfawcett3 @startelegram @MarteJr @TPDfootballinfo @WRCoachNikk @loganfritz09 @Rivals @On3

Great coaching
Hot take: this is exactly how a coordinator should answer a question about his QB struggling. Andy Kotelnicki knocked this out of the park

An amazing man and athlete. The most loving family. You will be so missed.
We are heartbroken to hear of the passing of former Dripping Springs and UTSA offensive lineman Jacob Graner at just 28 years old. Jacob leaves behind his wife, Natalie, and their two young sons, Elijah and Mason. We send our deepest condolences to his family, friends, teammates, coaches, and everyone who knew him

Stick to the process
You don’t need to be the finished product today. Respect the process, commit to progress, and keep getting better—incrementally, systematically, and progressively.

Von Miller reveals after Texas A&M coach Mike Sherman suspended him, he packed everything he owned into his truck and started driving to Florida to transfer, when he called his he dad told him not to quit, so he turned around and led the nation with 17.5 sacks the next season “I had everything I owned in this blanket, and I went to my car. I threw it in the back and I’m driving home. I called my daddy. I’m like, ‘Daddy, man, I’m leaving. Coach Sherman kicked me off the team. I ain’t coming back until I do this and that.’” “I’m thinking my dad is going, ‘All right, we’re going to find something else.’ He said, ‘Pull that truck over, turn around, and go back to school. You’re not quitting.’” “I was like, ‘That was not the answer I was looking for.’ He was like, ‘You’re not just about to quit when it gets hard. You’re going to turn that truck back around. You’re going to go back to school and you’re going to fix it.’” “I had tears going down my face. I was like, ‘Man, this is going to be so hard to fix all of this.’ I turned around. We had a meeting. Coach Sherman told my dad the exact same thing that he told me, and my dad agreed with Coach Sherman.” “There was nowhere I could go. I just had to face the music. I had to face the truth. That spring was a hard one, but I got my grades up. I made it to all my classes. I went through the checklist of everything Coach Sherman wanted me to do.” “That following year, my junior year, was the best year that I had up until that day. I led the nation in sacks. I had 17 and a half sacks. My life had totally changed. That was all a testament to running straight through the storm. The shortest way through the storm is straight. I put my head down and I worked, and my life totally changed that offseason.”

Dan Campbell has a special spot in his heart for high school football. I asked the Lions head coach if he had a message for players and coaches beginning their seasons. His answer was as fantastic as you’d expect it to be.

Pure gold
🚨 THEY LOCKED THE PHONES AWAY… AND HISTORY EXPLODED. For 63 years this Long Island Little League team never tasted a state title. Then the coaches did something radical. Five hours before every single game… They ripped the phones out of the kids’ hands. Dumped them in a bucket. And threw away the distractions. What happened next is pure fire: The kids started talking to each other again. They locked in. They focused like their lives depended on it. And they went on the greatest run in the program’s entire existence. First New York State championship. Ever. Regional play. ESPN cameras. History rewritten. The assistant coach said it best: “When the apps disappear… the real kids show up.” The players? They love it. They call the phone bucket their good-luck charm. Structure works. Discipline works. Focus works. Phones don’t. This isn’t just a baseball story. It’s a wake-up call for every parent, every coach, every school in America. Are we raising champions… or scrolling zombies? Drop the phones. Raise the standards. Watch what happens.
