Ramayana Review : Visually epic, low on emotions. Vfx is inconsistent across the film except jataya - ravana fight sequence. Scriptururally inaccurate at many points and somehow they've tried to glorify Ravana justifying his actions and not showing his lusty side. DISASTER โญ1/2

#RamayanaReview : A Visual Spectacle That Misses Its Emotional Core | โญ 2.5/5 Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana turns out to be considerably better than what its trailers and songs had led audiences to expect. The VFX is spectacular, and the film offers several visually impressive moments. However, beneath this grand visual presentation lie some major shortcomings. When compared with Ramanand Sagar's iconic #Ramayan, this new adaptation doesn't come close, except in terms of visuals. The biggest weakness is its dialogues. There isn't a single memorable line that stays with you after leaving the theatre. The film is packed with action, but several important emotional moments have been compromised in the process. The #SitaSwayamvar sequence, for instance, is wrapped up far too quickly. Even more disappointing is the absence of the powerful conversation between Lord Ram and Lord Parshuram after the breaking of Shiva's bow. Ramanand Sagar's portrayal of this encounter was deeply emotional, but Nitesh Tiwari misses a golden opportunity to recreate that magic. This could have been a defining moment for Ranbir Kapoor's portrayal of Lord Ram. The film also spends too much time on #Shurpanakha and stretches the Jatayu-Ravana battle unnecessarily. The sequence involving Shurpanakha's husband and Ravana, which wasn't part of Ramanand Sagar's television adaptation, also feels unnecessary. Instead, the makers could have devoted more time to developing the relationship between Ram and Sita after the Swayamvar. As far as performances are concerned, Ranbir Kapoor needs to work harder on his portrayal of Lord Ram, particularly his dialogue delivery and expressions through his eyes. Yash, on the other hand, makes a strong impression as Ravana, while Sai Pallavi does a commendable job as Sita. These three characters hold your attention largely because of their importance to the story. Beyond them, however, there isn't another character that leaves a lasting impression. Ravi Dubey also has considerable scope for improvement. But the film saves one of its biggest surprises for the end. After the end credits, Hanuman makes an extraordinary entry. Ever since the trailers were released, audiences had been asking one question: Where is Hanuman? The makers have finally answered that question in a way that wins hearts. Although Hanuman's face is not revealed, the sequence makes it clear that #SunnyDeol will be playing the legendary character. It is a terrific moment and leaves the audience with something exciting to look forward to. Overall, #NiteshTiwari has delivered a decent one-time watch, backed by spectacular visuals but lacking the emotional depth and memorable dialogues that a story like Ramayana demands. The good thing is that this is only the first instalment, giving the director an opportunity to correct these mistakes in Part 2. If you have grown up watching Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan, don't enter the theatre with sky-high expectations. #Yash #RanbirKapoor #SaiPallavi #NamitMalhotra

#RamayanaReview : is a colossal, gold-plated spectacle that never quite finds its soul. CINEMA UNCENSORED - ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced on an eye-watering budget of โ‚น2000 crore is a half baked cake This is easily the most expensive and technically ambitious Indian mythological film yet. It has the scale of a HOLLYWOOD tentpole, the visual sheen of a BIG-BUDGET fantasy, and a cast built for mass appeal Ranbir Kapoor as Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, with Ravi Dubey as Lakshmana and others. The Hans Zimmerโ€“A.R. Rahman score and DNEG VFX aim for epic grandeur. On pure spectacle, parts of it deliver. On emotional and narrative weight, it frequently falters. Nitesh tiwari is missing the pacing uneven, and the leads a letdown relative to the hype. It is better than certain recent mythological misfires, and the ambition is real. But grandeur without consistent heart, and spectacle that frequently outpaces storytelling, leaves it feeling like an ornate, overlong missed opportunity rather than a definitive cinematic retelling Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi are total Miscast only good thing is #yash as ravana . High Time AR Rahman needs to retire he cannot create a soulful music anymore Poor direction from tiwari expected better from him Only good thing in the movie is ravana scenes in first 30-40 mins and jatayu vs ravana scenes at the end . You cannot save this flick once the holidays are over . DHURANDHAR 2 will be highest Grossing Movie Of 2026 Rating: 2/5 โ€” DISAPPOINTING Watch on the biggest screen if pure visual excess is what you want. Temper expectations if CINEMA UNCENSORED - ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ #Ramayana #Yash #ranbirKapoor #saiPallavi #NamitMalhotra

#RAMAYANA: A VISUAL SPECTACLE THAT FAILS TO EVOKE BHAKTI & BHAAVNA.. Rating- โญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธ Nitesh Tiwariโ€™s Ramayana rides on two pillars โ€“ grand visual effects and drama and emotions. First and foremost, I would like to applaud the producers for attempting a film of this scale. Investing such a massive amount of money in a project like this, despite knowing the limitations of the Indian theatrical market, is truly a courageous decision. Visually the film is stunning. I wouldnโ€™t compare it with Avatar or The Lord of the Rings, as they belong to an entirely different league. However, it would not be wrong to say that Ramayana features some of the finest visuals ever witnessed in Indian cinema. Having said that, while the visuals are spectacular, the execution of the action sequences lacks the clap worthy high moments and impact we experience in SS Rajamouliโ€™s films. You certainly witness grandeur on screen, but most of these sequences are something you simply keep watching rather than experiencing. They lack the elevation that gives you goosebumps or makes audiences erupt into applause and whistles inside cinemas. The opening sequence featuring the battle between Indra and the Asuras, Ravanaโ€™s entry and the Jatayu sequence towards the climax are impressive, but none of them are truly extraordinary. Several creatures and monsters (Asuras) also look rather cartoonish. Now comes the filmโ€™s weakest link โ€“ drama and emotions. We are all familiar with the story of the Ramayana, which makes its execution the most crucial aspect of the film. Unfortunately, this is where the film falters. Apart from the Vanvaas sequence, there is hardly a moment that genuinely touches your heart or brings tears to your eyes, even Sita haran sequence is completely flat. The film seriously lacks the devotional connect and spiritual essence that one associates with the Ramayana. The sense of bhakti, devotion and divinity that audiences experienced in films like Hanuman Ansh, Mahavatar Narasimha and Kantara is largely missing here. For the most part, the screenplay feels boring and unnecessarily stretched. The performances are fairly decent, but #Yash is the one who carries the film on his shoulders. Every time he appears on screen, the film gets a significant boost. You genuinely feel that Yash was born to play Ravana. Such is the impact he creates in the role! #RanbirKapoor is very good as Shri Ram. He brings the calmness, composure and grace required to portray this iconic character. However his portrayal of Lord Parshuram is a different story altogether, with his dialogue delivery appearing rather absurd in those portions. #SaiPallavi as Maa Sita is a complete miscast. I find it difficult to imagine audiences accepting her in this particular role. Ravi Dubey does a good job as Lakshman. Arun Govil and the other supporting actors also perform their parts well. The music and background score are another major letdown. Hans Zimmerโ€™s signature musical touch is hardly noticeable throughout the film, barring the Dharti Hai Ambar Hai background score. AR Rahmanโ€™s songs are disappointing. Not a single track stands out as a memorable chartbuster that audiences would want to revisit. Overall, Ramayana is an above-average cinematic experience. If you walk into the cinema with normal expectations, you are unlikely to be hugely disappointed. However considering the scale, ambition and expectations attached to this project, the film certainly falls short of its potential. And yes, the brief glimpse of Lord Hanuman is arguably the biggest highlight of the film! I genuinely hope Ramayana succeeds at the box office because, honestly, I donโ€™t see another filmmaker attempting to bring the epic to the big screen on this kind of scale anytime soon. At the box office i donโ€™t think it will beat #Dhurandhar2 India & Global lifetime collection. #RamayanaReview
