A finding worth revisiting: Tobacco companies continue to use so-called corporate social responsibility activities, from environmental campaigns to assistance for farmers, to build relationships with governments and gain influence.
These activities may appear helpful, but they can create opportunities for the industry to interfere with public health policies.

ICE HSI agent Kent Blacklidge who racially profiled and tackled US citizen Leo Venegas while trespassing at his worksite (the first of Leo's three illegal detainments) was just arrested for rape and child sex crimes. The agent's duties had included child sex investigations.
ICE wrestled Alabama worker to the ground & detain him for hours—he is a U.S. citizen.
Young man was begging & shouting, "I am a U.S. citizen"—but that didn't stop ICE agents from dragging him off to a detention center.
Not following due process hurts us all—and our economy.
His family said that ICE agents did release him after he was finally given the opportunity to prove he was a U.S. citizen—but only after many hours.
