We have mentioned the word 'grants', and unfortunately we came to the conclusion they were well prepared scammers. There is multiple projects victim of these people.
@Aphex_Labs is the organisation to be very careful with.
This post is not to be dissapointed in what happened, but to make people aware of the methods they use.
First of all, the website, company registration in the UK, showing faces on camera, having multiple projects quote posting a partnership with them, and them being quote posted by @avalanchejp (yes, this is an account followed by
@avax and @AvaLabs) made it look like a legtimate operating accelerator program.
They used a tactic of sending a google sheet (yes, official link, we verified it) to victims. This google sheet then installs a driver onto your pc, which gives them full access to your PC.
The good news is, no project funds were affected and never in danger, and all the compromised accounts were taken back into control quickly.
We have gathered sufficient information to take action, and we hope to make sure this won't happen to anyone again.

For a week we have been investigating Aphex Labs after we number of people messaged us on the side about their legitimacy.
Turns out the entire thing was either a scam or mismanaged (see below). We are dissociating with them entirely as of now. No payment or tokens traded hands.
Their CEO, Chris, sent this following message on the cusp of numerous accusations by us and the community while our team anxiously awaiting updates.
Never click on links sent to you from anyone, double check and triple check them. Cross reference as much as you can and even after all that, you still never know in web3.
Huge thanks to @TheDazzleNovak , @memesatwar, @BenBirTrolum and anyone else who was helping investigate this. Get them out of the ecosystem.
