With no stable source of income and repeated displacement, Shihab is trying to keep his family safe and meet their most urgent needs despite the difficult conditions around them. The fundraiser was created to provide humanitarian support for medical care, food, shelter, and other essentials, while also helping the family work toward rebuilding their lives in the future.

Belal, his wife, their one year old son Othman, his elderly parents, three brothers, and three sisters, ten family members in total, have since been living in a small tent in Gaza City without electricity, cooking gas, proper sanitation, or steady access to clean water and food. During displacement, Belal was injured by shrapnel while searching for food for his child, suffering severe damage to his neck and right eye. He spent over an hour bleeding on a hospital floor due to overcrowding, and later medical examinations showed a ruptured eye, detached retina, destroyed lens, and internal bleeding. An Egyptian medical team was able to perform emergency surgery before leaving Gaza, but his treatment could not be completed. Belal has now lost around 90 percent of vision in his right eye and continues to live with constant pain, infections, and the risk of total blindness without urgent treatment. Despite the ongoing airstrikes, harsh weather, and daily struggle to secure basic needs for his parents and young son, he continues trying to care for his family while hoping for the chance to receive medical treatment and rebuild their lives.
