The sick are still sick. The injured are still injured. Wounds still need to be cleaned and dressed. Children still need treatment. People with chronic illnesses still need their medication. Emergencies still happen every single day. This woman had an appointment with our neurologist - the clinic had to pause operations. Close. Why - money. Funding. Donation.
Not because the need disappeared. Not because there is another clinic for people to turn to. We are closed because we have just recently not secured the $2,050 it costs each day to operate the clinic - including the medications and medical supplies our patients depend on.
Imagine being a doctor and knowing how to help the person standing in front of you, but not having the medication or supplies to treat them. Imagine being a patient who has already endured displacement, bombardment, hunger and loss, only to arrive at the clinic you rely on and find the doors closed.
We should ALL be angry about this!!

Abdaleaziz Khadra is a 20-year-old from Gaza who was studying and working in design, video editing, programming, and photography before the genocide disrupted his education and destroyed his family’s home. He lived with his parents and younger siblings, whose education and daily needs he helped support, until repeated displacement forced the family into a tent in southern Gaza under ongoing bombardment. During the displacement, Abdaleaziz was arrested by Israeli forces and later released after experiencing torture, poor conditions, and a lack of adequate food, leaving him with ongoing physical and psychological health problems, including recurring infections and untreated shrapnel injuries that require surgery. Despite his condition, he continues helping others in Gaza by distributing food parcels and donating blood when possible. His family now faces severe shortages of food, clean water, medical care, sanitation, and shelter, while his younger siblings struggle with hunger and malnutrition. They are seeking support for medical treatment, daily survival needs, and a chance to rebuild their lives after losing their home, education, and sense of stability.

She spends her days trying to provide for her children in extremely difficult conditions, including caring for a premature baby who needs specialized milk and vitamins and her 9 year old daughter who suffers from kidney failure and urgently requires medication that is often unavailable. The family hopes to raise enough support to cover food, medicine, and other daily necessities while also trying to return to the ruins of their home to set up a tent for shelter. Even small regular contributions can help the family manage basic living costs as they continue facing displacement and hardship in Gaza.

Mohammed is a 28-year-old former deputy manager at a clothing and trading company in Gaza who has been displaced eight times with his family since the genocide began in October 2023. He now lives in a worn tent in Rafah with around 14 relatives, including his 3-year-old son Ahmed, who only sleeps in his mother’s arms out of fear, and his infant daughter. Before the siege, Mohammed was working toward professional and educational goals, but his family lost their home, his father’s factory which was their main source of income, and 70 relatives and loved ones, including his cousin, his aunt’s son, and an uncle with his sons. Daily life is centered around finding food, medicine, and clean water while coping with constant displacement, overcrowding, and the spread of illness. Mohammed’s mother suffers from severe back pain and urgently needs surgery that is unavailable in Gaza, while his father-in-law is battling Hepatitis A. With little electricity, no stable work, and rising prices, Mohammed says the hardest part is watching his children and siblings grow up surrounded by fear and uncertainty while he tries to find a way for his family to live safely and rebuild their future.
