I'm on Episode #91 of the Reducing Crime podcast. I guess Jerry is running out of "important" people to talk to. At least I'm glad I (barely, mind you) made Jerry's "100 under 100 list."
Joking aside, it's a good podcast and a good episode.
EPISODE ALERT: #91 with @PeterMoskos now available.
His chat with @Jerry_Ratcliffe covers the 1990s crime drop in New York and his related book, 'Back from the Brink'.

Reducing poverty is good, but it is not a violence reduction strategy. (Though it can reduce property crime.)
Sociologists often stress that reducing unemployment and poverty are the only ways to reduce crime, but a recent review of the literature from researchers at the University of Chicago suggests some caution.

Fantastic episode of the @_ReducingCrime podcast about rapid video response to domestic abuse calls.
It’s particularly interesting because so many people said the intervention wouldn’t work, but (contrary to ‘common sense’) it did.

Count this among the things I didn’t see coming - sitting down with @Jerry_Ratcliffe for an episode of my favorite policing, crime, and research podcast @_ReducingCrime.
We cover a lot of ground in a half hour or so, and I learn about the difference between “fuck you” and “fuck me” gunfire. Hopefully there’s a little fun listening in there for anyone who’s interested in policing, transitioning to academia, or the lay definitions of “fucknado” and “fuckenomics.”
EPISODE ALERT: #75 with @ian_t_adams discussing his former policing career, his move to academia, and his recent policy related paper "Fuck: The Police".
Not to be effing missed!
