Inspired by cities with real, expansive transit systems, I’ve created an updated @CATSRideTransit fantasy map. It consists of Light Rail, Streetcars, Commuter Rail, Amtrak, BRT, and monorail. Below is an Area Map, a System Map, and an Uptown reference map.

The worst part about NC’s (and all of America’s) dearth of passenger rail is that the tracks/ROWs are just sitting there, mocking us…

✨💫It may only be the beginning of November, but Christmas has arrived at one of London's famous shopping areas. Carnaby Street has switched on its lights, kicking off the festive season in the heart of Soho.

On a run through Dilworth, there were four (4) separate houses with gas-powered leaf blowers.. it’s 8am on a Saturday
Now that midterms are over, I’m voicing my support for any #cltcc candidate who bans gas-powered leaf blowers. I will be a single-issue voter for any candidate who pledges to do this

We made it back to Chicago, where our trip started 58 days ago. The circle has been completed! This was our route during our college football road trip across America. 6,835 miles driven.

Amtrak has broken its annual ridership record, completing more than 37 million trips in 2026. It's the third year in a row the transit agency has set a new ridership high. (amtrak.com/content/dam/proje…)

Publicly confessing that you hit raised crosswalks fast enough to destroy your suspension is a brain-dead self-own. The infrastructure is doing exactly what it was designed to do, which is to force motorists to drive at a survivable speed in a pedestrian zone.
Replying to @cityofcarmelin
How much does Carmel pay to repair city vehicles because of these stupid crosswalks? They’re suspension destroyers. Do they slow up the police, fire, and EMTs when time is critical? C’mon, just say it. Carmel doesn’t want vehicles, just pedestrians.

CNN was scheduled to be today’s TV pool. But the White House blocked us from being allowed in for the president’s event in the Oval Office that’s now underway. That means none of the five networks will have audio or video of his remarks.

The community gets input every four years. We elect people to make decisions on our behalf. If we needed “community input” for every decision, especially things like street design and sidewalk cafes, nothing would get done.
