Very, very honored to have just acquired @danielkoeth's "Blue Sky #30." My fascination with DK and his work was kicked off, appropriately enough, by market design: the "Reset" auction mechanism he developed was so intriguing that it has become the foundation of an entire economic theory paper I'm now working on. I've since become a huge fan of his work – and we've become fast friends. His work has *spark* – some of the pieces hit absolutely perfectly for me – the type of work I could look at every single day, and every time it would make me both (1) think and (2) smile. (Indeed, his "Mr. Boo Sky" is my go-to for a lift-up after a long day of meetings.) Moreover, DK has been tremendously fun and inspiring to talk to, and a mensch to work with (he was even an early collector of the most skyward of my "45 squared" series!). And "Blue Sky #30" has been calling – I've been thinking about it ever since I saw it. The blue sky is the signature backdrop in many of DK's photos, and this particular sky is effectively a part of him – it's from the morning of his 30th birthday, stamped with the coordinates, and utterly uplifting. When I stare into it, it relaxes my brain, and puts me into the perfect mode for doing math. This acquisition is part of a two-way conviction bond – I'm tripling down in my support of him, and he's tripling down on me by committing to collect the entire series of "45 squared," becoming the second-ever "all-squared" collector alongside @adjumNFT. Looking forward to continuing to collect, collaborate, and further extend our friendship and co-conviction. The Sky is not the limit – it's just the beginning, QED 🙏💙🔲
