Buy iPhone 18 or Invest the cash?
Peer pressure is real. Anyways, I am retiring my iPhone 13 Pro for the iPhone 18 Pro. I like blue so Glacier was the natural choice to replace my beloved Sierra Blue 13 Pro😅.
Back to the purpose of this tweet, Apple offered a 30 month interest free instalments. Whilst I can afford to pay for the phone outrightly, I decided to do an experiment.
I took the offer and then today at the time of collecting the phone, I bought Apple shares worth the same amount ~£1,200. The goal is to see whether the investment return will pay for the phone outrightly or perhaps partially.
Apple was trading for ~$335 at the time of purchase. I will come back to this tweet in 30 months In sha Allah to see whether this strategy works or not. 😊
You could be earning over a million naira every month, yet the quality of your life keeps deteriorating because you have to constantly “work” for every naira you earn.
The irony is that some people even resort to pills just to stay afloat and keep up with the demands of the job.
This is the reality for some of my colleagues in the big accounting firms.

When I see people cry about rejections, it reinforces belief on why people generally turn out with different life outputs.
Aggressive application phase isn't 2-3 per day,
It is 40-50 every day for 2 months straight, knowing fully well that all you need is one YES.

Good day @Ssaasquatch , I wanted to come back and give you an update, but more than that, I wanted to say thank you.
When I reached out to you, I was honestly quite puzzled about what to do with myself. I knew I wanted to transition into finance, but I didn't have a background in it and wasn't entirely sure what the path was supposed to look like.
I moved from Anambra to attend the Edubridge finance program, courtesy of @Rufyb who sponsored me, and it ended on August 30th. Honestly, it was an insanely beautiful experience. I met incredibly smart people, learnt a lot, challenged myself and, thankfully, came out with a few things to show for it.
My team won the Stock Pitch Finals, and I was also awarded the Most Enterprising Student for my cohort. 🥹
But as happy as I am about those achievements, what I'm perhaps most grateful for is that I can look back and see that the confusion I had when I reached out to you was not where the story ended.
You gave me direction at a time when I really needed it, and I've carried that with me since.
Now, I'm back as promised🙂
I'm ready for that conversation, sir. I'd really appreciate the opportunity to sit down with you and talk about where I go from here. If it's possible, I can come by your office 🙂
I also have a little gift for you as a token of my appreciation. One of them is courtesy of the just-concluded Afiolu Nnewi 😂. I'd love to bring it myself if you're okay with that.
Thank you again, sir.♥️

Do a finance course on @edubridge_ng then get back to me. I wouldn’t mentor you but as a fellow Nnewi guy, I could provide some direction.

This was when my @investbamboo account reached 100k naira profit. 😊
In over a year, you won’t believe the growth. Even, if I tell you, it’s unbelievable.
Just start your investment journey. No long talk.
Major update on the Nigeria stock account, the unrealised profit touched 100000 naira.
Like play like play, it will reach 1 million naira one day.
The only goal of sharing this portfolio is to get more retail involved on NGX and we are winning but guys please always do your due diligence so that we will not repeat same story as some of the older people that invested in the stock market.

We’re starting the IAS & IFRS weekly series tomorrow.
The standards have been grouped under themes, so they’re easier to follow, not in number order.
Save the timetable. Week 1 → IAS 1.
#IFRS #IAS #Accounting
I’m going back to the standards.
Every week I’ll pick one IFRS/IAS, break it down in simple language, then work through examples, interview questions, and exam-style scenarios.
Every week = one standard.
Monday we break it down.
The rest of the week we attack questions.
If you’re preparing for interviews, ICAN, or you just want to stop being rusty like me — join in. We’ll learn it together.
Drop the first standard you want us to start with. 👇

I uploaded my CV to ChatGPT, but instead of asking it to rewrite anything, I asked it 3 questions that completely shifted how I looked at my career.
You can do that, but you’re barely scratching the surface of what it can help you uncover.
These are the 3 questions I asked:

Sometimes I try to think how I can advise those seeking for entry level job but it's not easy.
The competition is tough.
AI is reducing the vacancies available.
Economy is biting.
Time is no longer a friend.
In reverse, there are alot of vacancies for experience hire.
The biggest challenge for fresh entry graduates is to try and start something somewhere, learn tangible skills while at it, be smart, strategic and know alot of people.
I think it gets easier when u get that early years experience.
The salary? Ahhh, it will never be enough. You just need to accumulate skills & experience and try to catapult to that good paying job.
For every job paying 500k above in this country, the competition and fight for vacancies is crazy.
You, as a nobody is competing with extremely smart people, nepo babies, management team trying to slot in their candidates and many more😄
The issues are many, sigh....
I don't think anyone should be struggling with bank reconciliation in today's world after we have built ICL Reconciliator.
With ICL Reconciliator, you can reconcile thousands of incomplete records in 30 seconds.
Want to know how? Check iwelabi.ai for free.
“Do the reconciliation.”
If you’re a new accountant, you may hear this constantly. But what does it actually mean?
At its simplest:
A reconciliation is checking that two sets of records agree, or explaining why they don’t.
Here are some common examples you’ll encounter in accounting 👇
1. Bank reconciliation
Agreeing the balance in your accounting records (commonly referred to as cash book) to the balance shown by the bank (bank statement).
For example:
Accounting system ↔ Bank statement
Your accounting system might show a cash balance of 10,000.
The bank statement balance might show 9,700.
Your job isn’t to simply make them agree. You investigate the 300 difference.
It could be:
• Bank charges not yet recorded
• Unpresented cheques
• Outstanding lodgements
• Direct debits
• Interest
• Missing or duplicate transactions
Some differences require an adjustment to your books. Others are simply timing differences. The aim is to explain the difference and ensure the correct balance is reflected in your books.
How confident are you with bank reconciliations?
1 = I still get confused
10 = Give me the reconciliation and I’ll sort it 😂
