Zohran didn't win by relying on standard turnout patterns. We had to fundamentally transform the Democratic electorate.
I was part of a group of NYC-DSA members that applied lessons from our previous campaigns to design the “universe” of voters to talk to. Here's how we won 🧵

Just like Zohran I think folks are going to mistake only highlighting Janones Lula's Army WhatsApp by just talking about media & social media. He also asked every one of its 10 Million members to flip one vote from abstain or Bolso to Lula. That's what they won by - Reach Magic

There are a good amount of dems voting with no recent vote history, same cannot be said for Republicans

For historic context, the total of 2026 @nycDSA delegate voters is slightly larger than @DemSocialists total membership in 2015 at the time of national convention delegate apportionment.

To everyone celebrating Lula’s reelection victory, I just want us to all acknowledge Erika Hilton right here. She’s a Black trans woman who became the most voted congresswoman in Brazilian history this cycle and has been campaigning nonstop for Lula in the second round

Once again, the moment you've all been waiting for: @CityAndStateNY's state legislative general election races to watch!

Lula has won a nearly insurmountable challenge: from being behind by 2 million votes and endorsed by none of the remaining candidates, the methalworker and historic union leader has defeated the far-right Bolsonaro family again. Why?

Through seven days of early voting, Hidalgo County, TX (92% Hispanic, population 920K), is outpacing its 2024 presidential election turnout at the same point.
16% of early voters didn't vote at all in 2024. A microcosm of the exceptionally strong Hispanic turnout across Texas.
Over 6,200 NYC-DSA members cast ballots for this year's convention delegate elections!
That's more raw votes than some actual state legislative elections we've contested:

⭕️ President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has overtaken Flávio Bolsonaro in Brazil's runoff count. With 59.77% of polling stations reporting, Lula has 50.52% of valid votes to Bolsonaro's 49.48%, a lead of about 766,000 votes, according to Brazil's Superior Electoral Court (TSE). Stations vary in size, so that share is not the same as the share of votes counted.
🇧🇷 Flávio Bolsonaro holds a narrow early lead over President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in Brazil's runoff. With 36.22% of polling stations reporting, he has 50.33% of valid votes to Lula's 49.67%, a margin of about 290,000 votes, according to Brazil's Superior Electoral Court (TSE).
Stations vary in size, so that share is not the same as the share of votes counted. The count resumed after Supreme Court Justice Cristiano Zanin extended voting by two hours over bus shortages in at least nine states.
Early results can swing. In the 2022 runoff, Jair Bolsonaro led for most of the night before Lula overtook him late in the count.

Lemme pick that up for him: Yes, yes it is. A vote for Rogers is a vote for the Trump agenda.
🌹 Last day to vote NYCDSA delegates to convention. The process has been eye opening. @GroundworkDSA campaigned by doxxing and slandering members of other slates, @DSASocMaj ran to a congressional candidate to promote their slate . Only @w2wdsa focused on what they offer you
