Built this for personal use to track my progress and I'm putting it out there for those interested in core machine learning. Main prerequisite is solid math foundation. You can reach out only if you FIT, find it useful and ready to put the WORK.

Everyone wants to talk about neural networks in quant finance. Almost no one wants to talk about what they're actually for.
Strip away the hype and a neural network is just a function approximator. Nothing more. You feed it information about the market:
→ prices → returns → volatility → volume → spreads → macro variables → order-flow features
...and ask it to learn a relationship between those inputs and a target:
→ future returns → volatility → probability of a price move → fair value → execution cost → regime characteristics
Here's the part most people skip past: the network doesn't know what a "good" relationship looks like. It will fit whatever pattern minimizes its loss function real signal or pure noise, it can't tell the difference. That judgment call belongs entirely to the researcher.
Which is why a 10-layer model trained on noisy features will consistently lose to a simple model built around a strong market hypothesis. Depth doesn't fix a bad question. It just hides it better.
So quantitative research isn't "throw AI at the market and see what sticks."
It's:
Hypothesis → Data → Features → Model → Validation → Backtest → Execution → Analysis
The model is one box in that chain , not the point of it.
And even a model built on a genuinely good hypothesis isn't done once it produces a prediction. That's actually where the real test begins. Does the prediction survive:
• transaction costs • slippage • latency • regime shifts • out-of-sample testing • realistic execution
Most "alpha" dies quietly in that list, not in the training loop.
A neural network can find a pattern. It cannot tell you if that pattern is an economic relationship or a coincidence that happened to survive your sample period. Only a researcher who understands why a signal should exist can make that call.
That's the actual skill in systematic trading not the architecture, not the parameter count, but the judgment to know when a model has learned something real versus something convenient.

Been off here a while. Been juggling math + CS coursework, SWE gigs, and digging into ML theory, optimization, and quantization on the side.
Wrote my first Medium piece — an intro to Empirical Risk Minimization, ending with a proof that finite hypothesis classes don't overfit.

Let get this
#500Interns
I've gotten over 600 people to join me on #500Interns, if everyone gets us one company each, we'll hit our goal.
Wait you all are serious right? Because at the least, no tweet with the hashtag #500Interns should get less than 500RTs in less than 2 minutes. Deal?

So @contra to get past clients reviews they have to be onboarded. That's not a good user experience more like using our reviews as referrals
One person will now come and use dirty hand touch me today and expect "it's fine" as usual. It will not be fine oo. I just use hand wash my natives as machine spoil and dry cleaning na gold now 😩😩. We go too fight ehhn, na dry cleaning money go settle us last
I redesigned my CV again - a sign of joblessness. A simple design I prefer to the former one. Not surprising, the ATS score is so poor. Do recruiters really care about quantifying impacts as ATS suggest or is it just ATS thing
