Don't know if users on this site are aware but the owner of the site appears to be getting a bit Nazi-ish and therefore it could be a good time to stop using this altogether. I mean, if Goebbels set up a messaging service back in the day, you'd probably steer clear?
Well, at best that's a really odd salute gesture when the entire world is watching you. His only mitigation is that he's an absolute moron.
It's the casualness that "hostages" and "prisoners" are used for different groups of people that is harmful. And across all media today.
The release of the first three Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners at the start of a fragile peace deal in Gaza is today’s @DailyMirror lead story.
Egomania and lack of self-reflection aside, what a load of clumsy and repetitive prose. Shame on anyone who has ever fallen for this.
It was hard not to like a man who was willing, in defiance of so much polite opinion, to stick up for Brexit.

That bloody Darwin will think twice before denying climate change again
Despite long jail sentences on protesters the Just Stop Oil campaign continues, with two determined women marking Darwin’s grave with ‘1.5 is dead’ bit.ly/4ay3iUh
And still the media continue to find ways to construct more rungs to his ladder. When he's PM (NB he won't ever be PM or leader of opposition), there'll be some article suggesting he has the potential to be leader of the universe. Or the next James Bond.
"Whether Farage can seize the mantle of de facto leader of the opposition will be a crucial story of 2025", writes @bethrigby

Rest easy Telegraph readers. I know this will come as a disappointment to many, but - spoiler alert - Britain is not under union control 😂😂
However, the leader of the opposition is definitely taking her talking points from the world’s most unhinged billionaire.
If I was a student, I'd also vote against fee rises. But how can a student know what fees are "necessary"? It's impossible for a student to have a handle on running costs of a university. This is where our funding model breaks. We can't pass on those costs to students
My piece for HEPI today:
📉Most students oppose the fee rise & do not see it as 'necessary'
💰 But opposition softened a lot by rise in maintenance support
👫Big splits by gender and age, with more men and older students backing the rise

And so we move into the next phase of reality’s Squid Game: the end of fact-checking. From now on, what happened, what you think happened, what you wanted to have happened, and what other people said happened, are all of equal value. Other than people getting killed, what could possibly go wrong?
This is incredibly dumb and is a massive hole in UK heat decarbonisation strategy

Context for Elon Musk: the two teens are Oskar Dunn-Koczorowski and Michal Szewczuk of the neo-Nazi group Sonnenkrieg Division.
They called for violence against Jews and non-whites, asked women to self-harm, and Szewczuk encouraged the killing and rape of women and babies.

"Any politician that wants to defeat Farage should spend more time explaining why he’s wrong, and less claiming he’s right but that they’d do it better."
A piece I wrote over Christmas which remains, tragically, relevant

Musk is going properly stratospherically nuts isn't he? Openly supporting neo-nazis can't end well. His timeline is currently showing support for AfD, Geert Wilders, and Robinson. Danger is that he makes others on the right (like Farage) seem moderate.
I don't think we need to report on, and certainly not set up enquiries for, things that Musk has demonstrated he doesn't know about just because he's tweeted about it. It's like listening to the weird drunken uncle in the corner at a wedding.
All of which is meaningless unless you state what your values are and what right you have to apply them to an entire country. What he really means is that his values are to automatically oppose the beliefs of foreign nationals (and those perceived to be "foreign").

Farage’s refusal to condemn Musk’s outrageous statements shows total unfitness for public office. But he’s never held to account & whole @bbclaurak interview allowed to be on his terms. No focus on Reform’s divisive policies & no effective challenge to his dangerous insinuations
