It is an honor and a joy to work with the critical industries our civilization runs on to build a new era of Flying Robot Infrastructure that helps keep us all safer and makes our world more efficient. Together with our customers we have made immense progress towards this future over the last year. You can see it in the metrics - 2M flights/year and exponentially growing - and you can see it in the thousands of individual stories where a drone helped save a life, protect an asset, or just save someone from tedious manual work.
But we’re still just getting started. On stage at Skydio Ascend, we announced two new categories of products that will shape the next decade:
• The software Commands: DFR Command, Asset Command, and Security Command. We’re now tapping the true potential of software-defined, autonomous, dock-based drones with industry-specific applications for Public Safety, Energy Infrastructure, and Physical Site Security. Each Command brings together specialized autonomy, customized interfaces and workflows, and deep integrations with complementary software and systems to orchestrate fleets of flying robots and deliver end-to-end solutions for each industry. This makes drones easier to adopt and integrate than ever before, and orders of magnitude more effective once you’re operating them.
• F10 Lightrunner: This is the most advanced fixed-wing drone that has ever existed. It’s launched and caught with a robotic arm (RTOL); its gimbal is on the wingtip which means it never gets obstructed by the wing (SideEye); and it has the evolution of @SkydioHQ Autonomy for fixed-wing aircraft (Foresight). All of these together represent one of the great feats of engineering in the history of aircraft, but we didn’t do it just for fun. F10 will bring the benefits of Drone as First Responder and fully automated drone inspection of critical infrastructure to all the landmass in the free world with 100mph speed and up to 30-mile coverage radius.
We build the coolest technology in the world, with the best team in the world, to serve the most important customers in the world. LFG.
As Mark Twain said, “I didn’t have the engineering skills to design you a small drone, so I designed you a large one instead.”
Well @SkydioHQ is great at engineering, so we do make smaller drones.
But we make really, really big conference booths.
If you’re on the lookout for DFR at IACP, you want small drones but big booths.
Come check ours out.
Super proud to support the US Coast Guard.

Sector Southeastern New England and Office of Rapid Response and Prototyping (CG-RAPTOR) tested drones that launch remotely the moment a distress call comes in, streaming live video to watchstanders and cutting time to receive critical information by up to 77%.
@USCG is modernizing our capabilities to reduce response times and build a more agile, capable force.

.@DominionEnergy just added 100 Docked drones to their fleet.
Just out of sight for most people, the way our nation’s critical infrastructure is inspected and maintained is being revolutionized by @SkydioHQ Flying Robots.
Dominion is moving linemen and substation electricians into remote drone pilot roles. The people who know the grid best are flying it (they used to climb for these angles), and now docked drones at substations let them see what’s happening to make informed decisions before any crews roll out, saving ~8-12 hours per event.
Pioneering leadership by the entire team at Dominion.
Skydio has two objectives to support US and Allied National Security:
1) Help build the domestic industrial might to win a robotic war of attrition if necessary
2) Apply the best of our dual-use technology foundation to equip our soldiers with world-leading capability
We took a huge step forward on (2) yesterday with the launch of ISR Command software for our military and other national security customers. ISR Command is:
• Scalable: leverages a decade of development in Skydio autonomy to deliver autonomous workflows in GPS-denied environments
• Collaborative: Bi-directionally integrates with TAK and NGC2 to give operators simultaneously the best in flight capabilities and the most open, integrated platform that has ever existed in this class
• Persistent: breaks the 1:1 pilot:drone ratio to enable scalable 1:many operations
It orchestrates fleets of drones to deliver the most economical, effective ISR capability that has ever existed.
It follows the launch of Security, Asset, and DFR Commands two weeks ago at Ascend, as we build out the hardware and software Flying Robot Infrastructure to make our civilization safer and more efficient.

Was that a Gun?
This morning we received a call about a man armed with a gun in the 2400 block of Junction Place. Officers quickly began responding from different locations, including our eyes in the sky.
But in two and a half minutes our Drone as First Responder found the individual and saw he had no gun. Instead, the man was holding a wrench as he worked on a wheelchair. Responding officers were then able to slow their response but still responded to ensure there wasn’t a gun that wasn’t visible or another threat. Further investigation revealed the man did have an active warrant, and he was arrested for that.
The DFR program enhances Boulder’s public safety in many ways by helping to determine the best response to certain calls for service and giving officers a real-time view of what’s happening at a scene. With better information, we’re able to make smarter decisions more quickly.
This was one of those times, and we’re glad this one turned out the way it did. Have a good day, Boulder. We’ll be here if you need us.

Everything we’re hiring for now at @SkydioHQ is guaranteed to be a challenging, impactful, super rewarding job for the right person. But the supply chain roles are special. We’re building a new breed of drones, independent of the legacy supply chains in China. It’s hard, it’s fun, and it really matters.

“Transparency is at the core of the drone program”
“Having this technology and this tool has been extremely beneficial as it relates to de-escalation”
“Drones have been dispatched 9,800 times. 73% of the time they arrive to a scene before officers and 9% of the time they're able to cancel patrol officers, freeing them up to respond to the next call.”
“This is an historical time for the Los Angeles Police Department.”
“The drones have helped track suspects at the end of pursuits, especially in areas like tight alleyways or tunnels.”
“The LAPD was able to quickly locate a young child who was reported missing. We dispatched the drone. Officers were able to go overhead and find that young child at night near a freeway overpass.”
“LAPD has a public online database where anyone can see when and where a drone was flown and for how long.”
Congratulations to the @LAPDHQ and Assistant Chief @LAPDETingirides on an incredible first year of Drone as First Responder. This is what DFR is all about.

Crossing a threshold without knowing what's on the other side is one of the most dangerous moments in law enforcement. It's a high-stakes guessing game that puts lives on the line every single day. We built R10 to help solve this problem.
Last Sunday, @WichitaPolice responded to a barricaded suspect armed with a firearm. SWAT deployed the R10 inside the home and located the suspect in the basement. "Caught off guard by the drone's presence, the suspect surrendered and walked out of the home," where X10 provided overwatch as officers took him into custody.
No shots were fired by law enforcement, no officers entered the unknown, the suspect is in custody, and everyone, including the homeowners and the suspect, is safer as a result.
Thanks to Chief Joe Sullivan for sharing this incredible outcome and trusting @SkydioHQ with high-stakes incidents like this one. We are very excited to see agencies using the complete DFR family of hardware and software to protect their communities.
The CCP talking point that US drones can't compete is demonstrably, increasingly out of touch with reality to anyone paying attention. One of Skydio's primary competitors, Flock Safety, is a DJI reseller. We very rarely lose to them - especially after a head to head trial - even when they heavily discount the Chinese drones they sell.
The next chapter of drones is about dock, remote operations, and autonomy. DJI makes very impressive HW, but Skydio has the upper hand in delivering end to end automated solutions for law enforcement, site security, asset inspection, etc.
We still have a higher cost structure than DJI, but the value of e2e solutions is so high that our customers typically get much higher ROI than they would with manual drones. Plus we benefit from an overwhelming preference amongst customers to buy American products even though Chinese drones are still very much for sale. Deeply grateful for that support.
And the more scale we get, the more affordable we'll be able to make our products.
Until US manufactures can produce drones of similar quality and price to DJI, banning Chinese drones will only hurt local law enforcement without any gain to our national security.
Is the US banning drones from China until it can make better ones itself?
