I’m not sure if you’re an actual moron or just pretending to be one. Paxton paid restitution for fraud in a settlement to avoid conviction. If he was innocent, he would have just defended himself and been found not guilty which would have been cheaper and faster. He dragged it out to get a deal. He didn’t pay out of the kindness of his heart. He also had to pay a settlement for retaliating against whistleblowers that turned him in for interfering in a federal investigation to his friends. He was impeached by his own party. A lack of conviction doesn’t mean innocent. Lindsey Clancy is guilty as they come and she had a mistrial because of a crafty lawyer and support from morons. There is plenty to draw from here. It’s completely relevant that you do not elect an actual fraudster and person that has already abused their office to a position that gives them more power . I’ll say again, everything you claim to love about this country comes from progressive policies. The constitution was the most progressive thing of its time. the entire reason the U.S. Constitution was written is because the original decentralized, weak government under the Articles of Confederation was a total economic and structural failure. The country was drowning in debt, states were fighting trade wars, and anarchy loomed. The founders wrote the Constitution specifically to build a stronger federal government with the power to tax, regulate commerce, and maintain order. Far from being a zero government vacuum, the Constitution's progressive framework and Preamble explicitly established a system meant to "promote the general welfare." That’s progressive. That’s not the only progressive phrase, we can tear apart the entire constitution and highlight all the progressive phrases if you want. Appearently you’re only familiar with the parts that are on coffee mugs. Modern libertarianism seeks maximum individual liberty within the rule of law, not the total absence of government. More importantly, if your primary voting issue is the Second Amendment, supporting the Republican establishment creates a massive blind spot regarding police accountability. Look at cases like Airman Roger Fortson in Florida, who was legally holding a firearm in his own apartment before being shot dead by a deputy, or the fatal shooting of lawful gun owner Alex Pretti. In both instances, mainstream law and orderpolitics rushed to shield the state actors rather than protect the absolute constitutional rights of citizens carrying legally owned firearms. If you genuinely care about gun rights, backing a political platform that grants total impunity to law enforcement when they kill lawful gun owners means you are prioritizing a party brand over actual self-defense rights. If you truly care for the second amendment , the party you support would be calling for government actors to be jailed for killing people for legally owning a firearm. So shut the fuck up about your gun rights.
