Ramita Ahirawar, aged 22 (name changed), filed a case of sexual assault against Komal Singh and his associates in 2019. The accused exerted pressure on her family to retract the case. In July 2020, when the Dalit family refused to withdraw the case, Komal Singh Thakur, a BJP leader, along with his accomplices, assaulted Ramita's mother and fatally harmed her brother, Nitin Ahirwar. The primary accused was also a BJP leader and a legislative assembly representative of senior BJP leader Bhupendra Singh. Rajendra Ahirwar, Anjana's uncle, was murdered on May 25th, 2024. He was a witness to the killing of Anjana's brother, Nitin Ahirwar. Rajendra's family was transporting his body to their native village, Barodia Nonagir. Anjana Ahirwar was accompanying the ambulance. However, she tragically died under mysterious circumstances during the journey. According to the Sagar police, she allegedly jumped off the ambulance and succumbed to her injuries. However, Anjana's brother disputed this claim, stating that the ambulance driver had not closed the ambulance's door and was driving recklessly. He emphasized that his sister was not prone to such drastic actions.
