I was, of course, thinking mainly of Ukraine that day, and the state of the world.
Now I will need it very personally, too. I'll be around, but probably (re)posting less than usual. Fingers crossed that by this time next year, the light will have returned... for all who need it.

Yesterday’s jamming map is particularly interesting. Virtually the entire eastern flank of NATO is affected by strong, geographically concentrated jamming along the eastern border.

May 2026: more than 200 military vehicles detected at a base near Luga, roughly 150 km from the Estonian border. September 2026: all of them gone.
SAR imagery first detects the vehicles. Change detection then shows what has moved, and when: day or night, through cloud, no matter the weather.
What happens just beyond the Baltic’s borders shapes security within them. Knowing when forces build up or draw down nearby is now key for anyone tasked with protecting the region.

I don't think this election changes much for Russia. A deal was unrealistic before, and after Alaska Putin has completely written off Trump as a serious strategic actor. Trump will continue to be an asset for Russia, but only to weaken and disrupt the West, not for a real deal.

Amid all this volume of hockey news these days, I once again want to remind you that “sports are out of politics” is an absurd narrative that has nothing to do with reality.
This child killed by Russia loved hockey and might have become an excellent hockey player, but we will never find that out.
At the same time, Russian hockey players are taking part in propaganda videos for Putin’s political party, while other Russian hockey players pose in the shape of the letter “Z”, which has already become a symbol of this war in Russia.
The suspension of Russian athletes is a fair and correct decision.

On the night of March 7, a Russian missile struck a residential building, and one of the victims of the attack was Hordiy Udovychenko. He and his mother Olena were killed together.
Young Hordiy played for the hockey team “Bilyi Bars” (White Leopard). Here is how the team responded to the death of the young athlete:
“Hordiy was a sincere, kind, and open boy who loved hockey very much, as well as his team and training sessions. We remember his smile, his diligence on the ice, and the joy with which he came to every practice.”
Ukraine experiences unspeakable tragedy every day, and every day it loses its future.

Russian forces published a video of their glide bomb strike on the school in Komyshuvakha, Ukraine where civilians were receiving humanitarian aid. At least 33 people were killed and 58 remain missing. Rescue efforts have been disrupted by more attacks.
