The story keeps getting crazier. To recap everything that has been reported so far: - The US intelligence community discovered that Jensen Huang, the CEO of the largest company in the world, was sleeping with Alice Huang, a Chinese spy and an executive at Megaspeed. (FT) - Multiple independent investigations have concluded that Megaspeed is likely a Chinese cutout, which helps Chinese companies access AI chips or circumvent export controls. (NYT and Bloomberg) - The US intelligence community also concluded that Alice Huangโ€™s goal was to convince Jensen to lobby the U.S. government to loosen export controls on advanced AI chips. (NYT) - The intelligence community relayed this information to โ€œa small group of top US government officialsโ€ earlier this year. (FT) - Over the last year, Jensen Huang has repeatedly lobbied the U.S. government to loosen export controls on advanced chips. @BISgov has done so, not only by permitting the export of H200 chips to China, but also not enforcing export controls that would have required a license for exports of the most advanced Blackwell chips to Megaspeed and Southeast Asia. - Although @CommerceGov leadership was presumably briefed on this information by the U.S. intelligence community, @BISgov has taken no actions to tighten controls on Megaspeed or Southeast Asia. - Megaspeed remains a preferred cloud partner of Nvidia, and continues to receive Nvidia Blackwell chips despite employing a Chinese spy who reportedly is romantically engaged with the CEO of Nvidia. - Tens of billions of dollars worth of AI chips have been exported to Southeast Asia this year alone, and Malaysia and Singapore are now two of the four largest importers of AI chips in the world. What is going on here??? We need answers. The question of who gets the most advanced AI chips in the world is literally the defining strategic question of our time. And not only does it seem like the MSS may be directly influencing the debate on export controls in the United States, but also @CommerceGov is refusing to listen to the warnings of the IC on this issue. What is a POSSIBLE good explanation for why Megaspeed is still receiving chips? Why is there not a license requirement for AI chip shipments to all of Southeast Asia? This is beyond strange at this point. The fallout from this story will be massive. Obviously, the motivations underpinning Nvidiaโ€™s policy views opposing export controls must now all be questioned. But also, how did @BISgov sit on this information and has still taken no actions? We need answers.

Actually it means that we have run out of time believing Ideology is a Strategy. We have to take steps that are not based on slogans. We have to drive down spending and drive up revenues with preparation, facts and realization that there things that can be done. Remove regulation is not a strategy. More government is not a strategy. The math is the math. We have to reduce the deficit and spending. We need to raise taxes on the wealthy without diminishing investment that creates jobs, raises and improved productivity Take the top tax bracket to 44 pct for earned income. Increase the top corporate income taxes and add an AMT. increase the min wage for any company with more than some threshold in sales and or ebitda, to $20, indexed by dma Pay social security tax on earnings from 1m to 5m. Require across the board spending reductions for all federal agencies of 1pct a year for the next 5 years Increase the buy back tax to 4 pct for any public company that doesn't pay at least $25 an hour. Incest the money if you don't like it Pass the break up big medicine bill. Check my timeline for all the other healthcare recommendations Hate on this all you want. IMO, The midterms were not a confirmation or rebuke of Dems or Republicans. It was a rebuke of the way we do politics and run this country. We need to be honest. Transparent. And stop pushing ideology
Replying to @mcuban
nice sentiment, but 'capitalism works, not for everyone' is doing a lot of heavy lifting there. the $2T deficit and $40T debt say the feel-good part is running on borrowed time ๐Ÿ˜…

Calley Means, who recently resigned as a senior Trump White House adviser, tells Joe Rogan: โ€œSusie's daughter went to a lobbying firm and it was an open discussion in the White House. If a company hired Susie's daughter, then that was getting a high priority.โ€ โ€œThe group Susie's daughter worked for had almost zero in revenue before the Trump administration, shot up to 30ish million dollars a year in revenue.โ€ โ€œSo if you're a special interest and you want to get something done, the secret's out. You pay Susie's daughter.โ€

So, let me flag a few things, traitor. 1. "European security architecture" is a phrase the Kremlin uses. We already have one: it's called NATO. 2. You conflate (as you always do) the victim of this war with the aggressor. The aggressor is Russia. 3. "Root causes" is Russian for "do it our way" and you know it. 4. Nothing a word about Russian withdrawal, the occupied territories, POWs or deported children. Weird. 5. Lavrov wrote this for you. 6. Fuck Putin, fuck Russia, and fuck you.
President Trump today advanced an important discussion with several European leaders about the need for a broader European security architecture that can help establish the conditions for lasting peace. Building on his leadership and the substantive work undertaken this week in Brussels with Ukraine, NATO, and our European partners, @SEPeaceMissions and I wanted to share some of the objectives guiding our ongoing discussions. For more than 30 years, Europe and Russia have struggled to establish a sustainable security framework. Decades of mistrust, competing security concerns, and the devastating consequences of this war make this an extraordinarily difficult challenge, but one that is essential to lasting peace. Our objective is to develop practical arrangements that address the security concerns of all sides, reduce the risk of future conflict, and create a more stable and predictable security environment. We are exploring five principal goals: permanent security consultations, reliable crisis communications, greater military transparency, reciprocal measures to reduce escalation risks, and an enduring framework for long-term European security and stability. Any arrangements must fully respect the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and independent decision-making of every nation. Each country will retain authority over its own security and alliances, and no country would have a veto over anotherโ€™s sovereign choices. NATO will remain central to European collective defense, and this initiative would build upon existing institutions and commitments. We will continue consultations through the Shell Bay format with Ukraine, NATO, the EU, and our European partners, expanding engagement to ensure that all relevant perspectives and ideas are considered. We will also engage Russia as part of the peace negotiations. Next week in Abu Dhabi, the United States will convene the first trilateral peace discussions with Ukraine and Russia since February. All parties remain intensely engaged in preparing for substantive and productive negotiations. We will consult closely with our European partners on the sidelines and, if progress is made, aim to move toward a broader multilateral format with their direct participation. These ideas continue to evolve, and we welcome thoughtful input. Creating the right structure will be critical to ending this war and transitioning from conflict toward conditions that make possible a durable peace. This is difficult, detailed work. There are no easy solutions. But the opportunity to help end this devastating war and build a foundation for a more peaceful, secure, and prosperous Europe for generations to come makes it a challenge well worth undertaking. We will see how these discussions develop and continue working intensively with all parties toward President Trumpโ€™s objective of a comprehensive and lasting peace.

Crime without accountability is practice. Justice is not vengeance. When the Soviet Union collapsed, we let euphoria blind us to the need for the hard work of investigation and responsibility. Do not forgive, do not forget, and clean house.

Metaโ€™s cuddly spy called Muse has exposed private conversations by making links to shared chats publicly searchable. Predictable. When someone shared a conversation, Meta created a web link with the title of that conversation. Those links ended up in publicly accessible records where strangers could find them. Security firm Claroc discovered more than 6,800 shared conversations with a single search. Some contained sensitive personal and business information, including a loan application, a bank fraud alert and confidential company documents. Anyone who found these links could open the conversations without a password or permission from the person who shared them. Meta says it has suspended the sharing feature, but records of the exposed links remain publicly accessible. ๐Ÿ’ก Meta should shut down this service. Itโ€™s riddled with security vulnerabilities and poses serious risks to everyoneโ€™s privacy, including people who donโ€™t use it. It doesnโ€™t matter if you donโ€™t use any of Metaโ€™s products. If someone gives Muse access to their emails, messages or other private accounts, highly sensitive information about you could end up in Metaโ€™s hands without your knowledge or consent. If someone shares conversations youโ€™ve had with them, or talks about you in messages Muse can access, Meta will learn who you know, what youโ€™ve said, what youโ€™re thinking, your emotional state and your personal vulnerabilities. That kind of information is being used to build detailed profiles and social graphs about people whoโ€™ve never used Muse or agreed to share anything with Meta. Youโ€™d have no way of knowing what information had been collected about you or how it was being used. And because Meta is a US company, information it holds is subject to demands from US authorities. This is an extraordinary invasion of privacy, including the privacy of people whoโ€™ve never used the service.

Never, ever trust a Facebook/Meta product. They exist to suck up all your data.
Meta's Muse AI agent harvests personal, financial, and professional data from people who have never installed or given their consent. Avoiding Muse doesn't stop Meta from collecting your data. When a contact grants Muse system-level access to their email accounts, contact lists, calendars, and private messaging history, the agent processes and indexes every interaction involving you. Meta receives, analyses, and stores your private communications without your knowledge, consent, or notification. This secondary data harvesting places non-consenting individuals inside Meta's commercial profiling system. Because Meta stores this indexed information on central servers, your private communications and personal network details become accessible through government disclosure orders and law enforcement requests. A single contact surrendering their account permissions compromises the privacy and digital security of their entire personal and professional network. My initial technical breakdown below examined Muse's permission structure and core capabilities. The upcoming investigation details the specific data categories Muse accesses and the mechanisms it uses to index unlinked third-party records. Muse is probably one of the most toxic products to come out of the tech industry in 30 years.
