Surprised people were so hard on Shadows of Rose. That was a pretty above average DLC. A little clunky or poorly conveyed what to do next but only in small spurts. Heartfelt and creative a good bit of the time.

Everyone is having fun dunking on Sandy, but the community notes saying the press release mentions deathmatch is wrong (it repeatedly mentions coop gameplay).
I have no idea whose memory is correct... it was 33 years ago, but the press release showing that they knew multiplayer would be huge doesn't contradict Sandy's claim that they thought deathmatch would flop.
In fact, it kind of reinforces Sandy's point exactly because it doesn't mention PVP.
Not the first time I noticed this pattern of people misreading these exchanges and shortcutting to "Sandy dumb".

Hi Sandy. Are you well? This is wrong. On January 1, 1993, we sent a press release saying that multiplayer would be in DOOM, a full 8 months before you joined the company. We knew deathmatch would be huge. In that press release, in January 1993, we said multiplayer would be "the number one cause of decreased productivity in businesses around the world." We were sure of it, and we needed no convincing. I understand you are proud of your work on DOOM, and you should be, but please also respect the accuracy of your statements, particularly around game history. My concern is that these false statements are designed to trigger replies (like this one), reposts, and outrage discussion, all with the view of increasing your followers and subscriptions, particularly since this false deathmatch story (among others) is so easily disproved. Iβve even welcomed you to reach out to me ahead of time. You seem to appreciate game history as much as I do. Could you not also make yours accurate?

In his first interview since BioWare's closure, original co-founder Greg Zeschuk says executives who killed the studio have βnever made a gameβ and donβt understand game development.
βThereβs this weird belief that you can just kind of recreate great games with random people and AI. It doesnβt work.β
Zeschuk was with BioWare from its inception until after Mass Effect 3.

No, codename of the the half life alyx was "hlvr" and abbreviation is "hla". Data miners have been finding the mentions of some project codenamed "hlx" for years now. So it's very unlikely that he meant half life alyx there
